Its stopped snowing at the moment and the snow is melting but I would imagine there will be showers all day and into the early evening by which time we will have a proper cover,

A few moderate wet snow showers here earlier, but the temp is a little high at the moment. GFS is showing some a slightly colder feed later this afternoon, but this co-incides with the wind direction changing to more of NW, which will cut the showers off here later on. I would say if there is any chance for lying snow its going to be late afternoon/early evening.

Not had the opportunity to look at the radar yet, but it seems to be becoming very dark here.

Aso, the wind seems to have picked up a little

Still have a couple of cm's of lying snow, from earlier in the week, so a top-up would be nice :lol:

0300= 85%

0600= 87%

0900= 87%

1200= 87%

1500= 77%

1800= 75%

2100= 77%

looking at the charts , its going to be a very cold day tomorrow , with temperatures dropping down to around -3c in the early hours ,however its the wind chill factor what im looking at

0000= -7c

0300= -7c

0600= -8c

0900= -7c

Dew point looks to drop down to around -5c in the early hours

Just had a look at the radar mate, and there are some very tasty showers moving in

off the North sea. I'm not sure whether they'll fall as snow yet, I'll have to wait and see.

dying out around the humber area and therefore not quite reaching my area.

There's a shower now, on the radar, which is very nearly on top of me, so

I'll soon find out whether they are wintry or not.

Been a very disappointing day here, after the heavy shower of snow we had at 11am ( which has all but melted) there have only been a few light flurries,my best hope is for a heavy shower around 4-30ish and then for the sky to clear to let it all freeze quickly.

I have been promising my granddaughters to take them sledging all winter and they are here today but what little snow there is certainly would be no good for the sport we have in mind.

Well that shower passed over, and all that happened was the sky turned black, but

there wasn't any precipitation; however, the showers behind it appear to be

a little more potent

Hi brian,we are having the same experience in that the sky darkens we get a slight flurry then the sun makes an appearance despite the fact that the weather radar appears to show something more beefy.

Hi Mike, Yes exactly, I was certain that last batch would deliver, as it looked quite good on

the radar at the time.

It looks like there are still plenty more to come though

yep, heavy for a time, bbc already saying 5-10cm so could be like thurs event but heavier!

Rapid thaw here, flowing streames on the roads, water flowing rapidly down the pipework, but grass & paths etc doing fine with little if any thaw, its mostly on objects such as trees and houses where the snow is really melting, need a topup asap, meto/beeb beta going for heavy snow sunday night, is this likely to happen??

Yes, I think tomorrow night will be very productive for us
