to me that band hasnt moved east one bit and its just hitting cornwall now so when is it going to go east

I agree and these radar images show it too...?

http://www.meteox.co.uk/gmap.aspx?soort=lo...=-7.84423828125

And the 3 hour expected path does too...see below link

http://www.meteox.co.uk/h.aspx?r=&jaar=-3&soort=exp

So which way is it going...

How much snow is there on the grass there. Difficult to tell here, probably between 2-4 inches.

4inches, 5inches earlier, slight thaw

Looking quite good now

:D

Nearly all of that is for Ice overnight.

Both

Both the GFS and UKMO models the band effecting SE Wales, and at this stage SW looks like missing out, but if the band is further west than originally thought then you never know.

Currently NMM has the band nowhere near Wales even, so it will be interesting to see this update later.

I dont think it will.

If you look at the meteox sat images you can see something from the north moving down the uk. Where that meets this it will then push the system east.

It may track further north than expected but in the end i feel it will do a sudden shift east and anything north of it will have a cold frozen icy night.

Looking at the met office radar seems to be heading smack bang on swales.

Just out of interest, looking at the last forecast, which did show snow for here  since when was Exeter and other parts of SE Devon in Dorset? Good Old BBC and our license fee, must be really propping up their geography department. :D

Sunday now starting to look very interesting going forward.

With UKMO models really keeping temps down as rain? pushes through, still seems likely to be rain on the coast, but further north another story perhaps.

Well the forecast was completely wrong for Bridgend and the weather warnings. We didnt see any snow until 5am which took until around 6am to become heavy for a short while. No more than 1 inch in snow fell over a 4 hr period where it died out and the dreaded sun came out for the day and melted it all away. Sounds like Swansea had a good dumping last night and into today.

How did Cardiff do?

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but the precipitation now in the far SW appears to be turning to snow (according to NW radar) and speading NW!

Loads of precipitation on the Met Office radar. Definitely heading this way at the moment.

BBC National Weather Forecast on now.

Will I be able to view tonight's BBC Points West live?

Bristol extremely close to the snow - any slight variations and we could well recieve some of this.

Bob (HTV West) says:

Thaw happening, so ice.

Tomorrow morn: Snow into Wilts; nothing for Somerset, Gloucs or Bristol.

Calling rain for Sunday, sleet on hills.

It's a 'no' event tonite then.

Not snowing here, nor raining. But that fog is so thick, not seen anything like it in a few years, almost hand in front of face stuff. Love Dartmoor when its like this... all atmospheric n all!

Edit: Since when did ITV ever get anything right? (I note that football debarcle)

Are you sure you really want to be watching those HTV West forecasts? Surely the BBC ones are much more reliable and even then they are sometimes wrong.

Re my post earlier, Michael, he was spot on last night. But yes, i do agree about Beeb normally. I still think this is a nowcast event...radar watch time plus reports from our NW members further south, just like last night.

Remember last night. On the edge at this time forecast yesterday, on Beeb, then the 10.35pm national forecast called it for Bristol.

Same again please!

according to SKY Bristol will just clip it and us...
