Not sure why the met office have removed Dorset from the weather warnings... we're in the midst of a blizzard and the snow depth is continuing to increase!

'Cos they don't have to warn you, you already know it's there.

Gone back upto 4 inches here after yesterday evening`s snow which has drifted all night and this morning higher up once again, some good size drifts now. :D

Next thing to look out for now is a cold NW-ly and snow showers all there needs is a shower and squally wind to cause a tempary mini blizzard ,snowcover should easily remain intact today here anyway with a hard frost tonight and very starry skies. :)

Thin high cloud here and sunny 0.8c snow is still on the powdery side in the shade, and fields higher up.

Right, now I am absolutely CONVINCED somebody is having a laugh at my expense!!

Increasingly disconsolate about Weymouth having no snow, I set off this morning to head to parts of North Dorset to find places for me to take my boy later on this afternoon.

Light snow all the time in my 2 hours away. I come back to Weymouth and it's a complete whiteout!!! Wet snow but massive flakes and settling, chaos ensuing out there at the moment on the roads.

Couldn't ****ing make it up... :D

haha, love it.

-1C here now, but the wind is blowing the snow off the trees, which is having the benefit of listing the branches back to where they should be. I counted 4 trees down on my walk ( 2 of which over the road) due to the snow, and branches everywhere!

Needless to say no post again today, nor have they collected the rubbish! and they wonder why people complain at paying council tax :D

Really? I thought Sunday/Monday was supposed to be predominantly rain with sleet up on the hills. Temperatures are supposed to be a tad up on what we've had this week.

Yes I certainly know it's here! However, I would classify what we've had / having as "severe weather in the next few hours".. with 100% confidence. :)

Does indeed look alot more marginal than this... not that it was really marginal, just badly forecast.

I don't think i've ever (26) seen snow like this in the UK

Both Severn Bridges closed. Metre square blocks of ice dropping from the gantrys and smashing vehicle windows. :D

Another day off for me with UWE being closed. Bloody marvelous.

The top edge of the main ppn over Dorset is sort of travelling WSW but it disipates as it gets further west!

It's so damn close. You wouldn't have filled a bucket with ALL the precip that's fallen on Yeovil this morning.

Still snowing hard here, starting to cause problems on the roads around Dorchester, blandford and weymouth. Only just starting to go white on the coast.

Been snowing light here on and off all day...some schools closed and temp is now 2.0.

Anyone know if Sherborne/Yeovil are due to get it bad cos all around us within a few miles has?!!
