Snow Watch : Scotland

As I type snow is falling and blowing about on a strong southerly wind, another 4 inches fresh on what we already have, currently -1c. Speaking to my electrcian a few minutes ago he tells me that the Moray council in Dufftown are using JCBs and lorries to cart snow off the streets as they have over 40 inches lying there . Wonder how London would cope with that?

Heavy snow here on and off since about 0700am. About 3cm now on top of the snow that fell earlier in the week. 3rd significant fall in 10days here.

Well after all my moaning I'm finally getting the best snow of the country, shame it is on a busy day at work and I can't enjoy it as much.

A bit of a joke that the metoffice warning covers my area, i have had 90 mins of very light snow flurries.....10 minutes of moderate snowfall........which turned to sleet and now its raining........

And with that it is now washing away my snowcover which has been with me since Feb 2nd, lucky people up north and in the east!

Just turned to very light snow here again, aviemore is getting pasted i hear.

yep the met-office is a strange organization turned to rain very fast here not worth putting out a warning for this

Well well, so we manage to get a decent fall of snow from this cold spell.

I'm guessing there's around 4 inches of snow out there, perhaps more.

I'm rapidly losing faith in the met office

"Snow will develop this morning with accumulations of 2 to 6cm and 10cm are possible across the higher routes."

When it doesn't snow they issue a warning in advance, when it does snow they issue a warning after it has started for less snow than has already fallen.

I think there could be a good call for a Scottish Met Office.

Its snowed heavily in Glasgow for an hour or so, on the way back home it was raining all the way even up on the hills n(up to 300m).

Yes same with here, but looking at the radar I think it will fizzle out in the next half an hour or so.

snowed all of the way from glasgow to home this morning

currently 2-3inches here but it has stopped, which is probably for the better as the snizzle was starting to melt the snow

it looks like milder air returning over the weekend but i still don't think we're done with snow just yet
