Are you having very strong gusts of wind?

At the moment we have clear blue skies but in the distance I can see this mighty storm and because it isn't obscured by other clouds it looks amazing. I have no idea what altitude this storm is but the top of the storm is the highest i've ever seen. At the moment we're experiencing very strong gusts of wind ahead of this storm.

I shall take some pics shortly.

Heartbreaking isn't it Coast! Whats worse is apart from the temps everything else is in place to go bang!! If there was more stuff to add it wouldn't be as upsetting. But to know that its all up there waiting makes me go ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHJH!!!

Hi

Well I think the temps have made the grade over the south east. Looking black over towards SE London from where I am as well as other convection kicking off. I have a feeling we may still see something during the evening. :(

Mods, do you think we could start "pruning" a little. Particularly as it may well get busier, it's hard enough keeping up with what IS happening, rather than the stream of pointless posts whinging about what isn't.

thanks

I wish an expert would explain to me why south of Cambridgeshire is getting thunderstorms and all the Midlands is getting are heavy showers. It's no wonder I moan when something like this happens, it's a question of, why them and not us?

Iv'e wondered that for years.

No answers, there probably isn't one either.

A week ago, when there was all the widespread storms, and funnels in Suffolk, we saw not one storm, and had not one rumble of thunder... the weather does what it sees fit...

Jeez

It is nothing personal with the Weather.

My own thinking is that Cambs and surrounding areas were not affected by the Low Clouds from last nights Storms in the West country or the French Stuff from this morning, so they had clearing skies and surface heating this morning, they are also North of the Convergence Zone which is moving North. So with the Convective temps and Dewpoints possibly the best in the country this area has yielded and released more Cape than areas that were under the cloud, so conversely the Storms have more favourable energy to grow and become Electrified.

I thought this was convective discussion? Instead it seems to be convective moan.

Look, some people get lucky and some do not. If you want guaranteed Thunderstorms go and live in the tropics :(

I think the golden hr in this country is 16.00....We should know by then the lucky places getting hit....

Currently the Storm in the East is increasing in Sferics.....The direction its heading to is Manchester but I could be wrong....

The showers over down South havent done alot yet....but still time

+1 Yes it's getting rather tiresome isn't it :(

On a weather note, we are brightening up nicely here. I'm wondering what is going to happen to that line of showers across the midlands. Some thunder reported on the eastern edge of the line. It's moving slowly northwards. Perhaps it'll intensify further as the afternoon goes on :)

Looking at the recent sat/Radar echos and it appears the storm moving NNW in Cambs is showing signs of weakening.

Why is it on this forum, a few select few from the SE and the likes are alot to complain and moan as much as they like when the stuff from France don't hit them.

Yet is anyone further north moans then its tiresome.

Is it some kind of secret postcode lottery?

Yeah were moaning about it, but when constantly getting told were having a storm event or whatever and bugger all happens, it is kinda depressing. Not all of us can afford to go to the US for the storms.

Give us a break please.
