Hard to comprehend why you dudes in the SE wont see any electrical activity as those

storms just over the channel running through Calais are pretty active and running the

loop shows they are certainly growing... i cross my fingers for ya'll...!

Thanks Paul. The sun really does seem to be making a break through here at the South Bank, hopefully it will get the temperatures going in the right direction!

Hope so as the 1pm radar puts the nail in the coffin from the French stuff, watch it explode as it nears Belgium and Holland :( Homegrown or Bust now!

No change here yet.. temp up to 23, but due points down to 8.... still just cloudy, looking darker to the south, but not much change from this morning.

Weather09 - I'm just outside Dudley and the dark stuff you speak off has just been passing over giving nothing more than light to briefly moderate rain for a few minutes

Rather large mass of updrafts to my SW now, and its going rather dark down there, looks like Central London may be about to spark something off. Appears to be another very strong updraft to my distant West.

Latest sat image shows a cell has popped up south of the line over london.

Could this be urban heating taking an effect?

Would be nice to see some breaks in the clouds to bring to to 20+

Still very muggy.

Thats about right, the towers are only a few miles away, and they've more or less cleared out now as quickly as they appeared, never had much potential anyway as they were pulsing then condensing without getting too much height, looks like you may be right. :)

Looking at weather cams down in France it looks noticably 'dryer' there (less haze), looks like this dryer air will be moving towards us.

Hi Everyone

Well a strange day here so far. Woke up early this morning and had the most intense downpour, I haven't seen rain like it since I was in Hong Kong. Since then we've had spells of really fast moving low cloud ingterspersed with blazing sunshine (which is the case now as I type). I was convinced that the storms in the channel to the south east of Kent were gonna show up. What happened? have the steering winds shifted them to the continent? Ah well I'm off to enjoy the sun. I still think there's enough insability around to kick of a storm anywhere in the south, although I'd have to favour west of London and northwards.

Enjoy those who get lucky :(
