I really wish I was on the other side of the Channel, theres just a line of rain over Cornwall/Devon atm. Everything seems to be either to the East or West of me right now.

Ive had the worst possible situation of that all day, storms to the NW and SE with me in a dry gap, the ones to the SW of me moving ENE, the ones to the WSW of me moving NE, so they all avoid us, any that are heading towards me just die! we had good CAPE levels etc shown just as good as any other parts. Then other times even if showers are of the same strength down here they always seem far more electrically active further east in the midlands and SE.

Grr this happens so often here and gets so annoying :D the only half decent thunderstorm here this year had to come at the one time i was in an exam!!:cray:last 3 years been quite bad aswell..Sorry to go on like this in here i just needed somewhere to let my frustration out.

nice storm in manchester a tthe moment! nice larger hail than normal!

Recieved the bulk end of that. Surprised at how quickly it developed, although you could see the black clouds ganging up with about 20 minutes to go. The strong wind, escorted it through the area in a fairly swift manner, but that just meant everything happened at once. Fork lightning, thunder, torrential rain and hail. 30 minutes later it was over.

The trough moving into Western Scotland is about to hit here. The skies look very turbulent and dark to my west with a nice gust front forming. Wish i had a better view as the gust front appears to be stretching for miles. NetW radar indicates rain rates up to about 50-60mm/hr about to move through... lets hope for some thunder or large hail!!

Afternoon all

We have very strong winds here in conisholme plus lightening and a few rumbles, i have to say the sky is the worst ive seen it ever, with the strong wind blowing a hooly i would suggest we have a squall line moving through.

half hour earlier we had a heavy shower and this was the pic i took.

update severe lightening here!!

Heavy rain & Strong winds

First Thundery shower for a while here. Interesting too see if those showers over Wales build up again once away from the mountains.

We had hail and very gusty winds in the storm earlier followed by a short mammatus display! WHAT A DAY!

GFS and NMM Model hinting at the risk of some storms perhaps embedded in the precipitation tomorrow evening for Wales and the Midlands. Storm ingredients look quite good during the time of the precip with good LL Shear, excellent TT Index,Lapse rates very good etc plus the GFS Storm Risk is between 30-50%.

Your thoughts on this?

Violent storm you say? I had a violent squally shower, debris flying in the air (leaves and twigs) :drunk: Any pics?

Unfortunately not as i have been out all day but the rain in the storm was extremely bad along with hail in it and constant strong winds. Lightning and Thunder right overhead! Looking at the radar we hit it dead on so was quite lucky but certainly bore the brunt!

Whats your opinion on tomorrow evening? Could be good if things turn out right. :D
