Well good luck today everyone! I have a good feeling about today as those south west winds could work in the Midlands favour. :D

Oh dear.

Theres warnings out and its looking promising for some intense showers today.

Fingers crossed aye.

Probably turn to nothing like EVERY other time so far this year.

It will be just typical however that its no longer summer and we get a storm lol.

Either way i dont care. I just want a storm.

Excuse the late showing from me this morning - I'm off and feeling bone idle!!!

Although ESTOFEX have a forecast out, with a map showing West and Central Britain, I'm not getting worked up about it as there is nothing in the dialogue pertaining to the possibilities in the UK (they've just done it to cheer up poor Jane Loise! )

UKASF are much more encouraging and have:

Storm Forecast Issued: 2009-08-31 22:28:00

Valid: 2009-09-01 00:00:00 - 2009-09-01 23:59:00

Regions Affected

All of the United Kingdom

Synopsis

A complex area of LOW pressure to the north of Scotland, and the Azores HIGH to the south/southwest of the United Kingdom, will dominate the weather for Tuesday. A strong southwesterly-turn-northwesterly flow develops across the UK. Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop as a result of troughs and convergence zones embedded within the strong anticlockwise flow. During the morning the showers will be most frequent and persistent across western areas, but during the afternoon the showers should become increasingly widespread, especially so for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Small hail seems possible in many of the showers given the cold Polar Maritime airmass. There is enhanced risk of a tornado or waterspout developing in some of the showers. The showers/storms will ease away eastwards, clearing into the North Sea by the end of the forecast period.

TORRO still out shopping for kids school clothes and the charts look like:

I'm reasonably confident that my location (and much of the South coast) will miss out - the air dosn't 'feel right' but that central band of the UK might see something mid afternoon onwards. Got my fingers crossed for Jane Louise as the chances are diminishing as we go into September.

Got some rumbles of thunder here, looks like a pretty heavy shower/storm is on the way.
