I'd have it ready just in case. I've got mine ready because in the next few hours those showers/storms will transfer slowly eastward. That shower to my NW I think has grown to it's peak, the top is flattening out in seems with wispy looking clouds blown out from above.

I have just put it on charge just in case....there is a large shower heading this way

trying to grow into a Anvil...should get a direct hit

Extremely heavy rain here, enormous drops! Now a flash of lightning and a very loud crack of thunder. Exciting!! biggrin.gif

Now pea size hail, and it has calmed down slightly. Still chucking it down though.

Just had my first short sharp downpour. It seems like one of those days when any grey cloud of any size will just throw itself silly. Plenty of cbs around to the west and east but losing visual now due to a lot of low cloud spreading out as well.

And as suddenly as it arrives it disappears! Exciting stuff though, decent sized hail, temperature has plummeted to 14.2c. I don't think this will be the last storm of the day. Still rumbles to be heard as it clears.

High rain rate of 21.8mm/hr, so not the heaviest I have ever had (topped 100 before) but still not bad at all!

As usual everything is missing me :( It seems that any showers that would hit me if they head NE are heading ENE, and any that would hit me if they headed ENE are heading NE, if that makes sense.

Either that or any that are heaading my way just die out!

Nice CB to the far NW, and earlier a line to the SE, but I was in between them.

The NW Lightning Detector is suggesting sferics around this area but nothing here in the way of lightning or thunder, just heavy rain. I've got my eye on that clump towards the north Somerset coast.

Heavens just opened up here, no thunder this time though.

Extreamly black though.

I lobe days like this, one moment the sun is shining, the next its bucketing down

This thundery shower seems to be missing us by a couple of miles ( betweeun us and M1) but there are CG's coming from it at around 1 or 2 per minute.

Better than nowt. It makes good viewingdirol.gif
