Temperature has sky rocketed in the past half an hour or so from -4c to -2c, my chances of an ice day are starting to look a bit shaky.

To be honest, I think it is looking very good for snow tonight for the Midlands area.

Thanks for tht, quite encouraging.

Do you have any idea why Met office and the bbc not issueing a warning for this?

Thanks Jackone. I agree with you. Anything looks good after missing out and waiting for this for the past week or two!

Latest BBC Maps show some showers getting here tomorrow. More interestingly it shows a more organised band just to the North West at 3pm. If this was to happen, this could bring a further spell of snow to parts of NW England, Central and Northern Wales and the West Mids. Could it be part of the trough on the current FAX charts over Northern Ireland and Southern Scotland at 6am?

For all i know this could be gone on the next update though!

Some very heavy downpours in western Scotland. This is looking quite good but can it bring snow down here

BBC still adamant it'll rain over Wales and west.mids. What are they on about

Watch the video

I am no expert but would be very surprised if we don't get snow tonight. I wouldn't worry. Those forecasts are always changing. I never take notice of the Midlands Today forecasts either, they are never that accurate.

Cloud increasing from the West here in Shrewsbury, it's suddenly got alot gloomier

Yes a few showers are moving into North West England, North Wales. You may get lucky.

The metoffice are forecasting snow really for the first time in my location

http://www.metoffice...st_weather.html

If we get a good 1/2in tonight IF and then some more from Sunday through to Monday, this could well shape up nicely

Look at this. Just 15 miles down the road and nothing

http://www.metoffice...st_weather.html

This really is going to be hit and miss, especially Sunday and Monday. Good luck peoples

Does this show a few showers approaching the Midlands

http://www.meteox.co...oom&x=174&y=205

Perhaps we're going to see and early flurry

It's warming up on the western side of the country though so surely it could well be rain?

Wouldn't bother with Cannock, all that is left are bargain shops, Greggs and Argos, not worth the cold

Satellite images showing the cloud starting to spill in, still wall-to-wall sunshine here though but an increase in high clouds.

I think a couple in this thread are worrying a bit too much. In my opinion and the most likely option is that any rain/sleet will be towards Weat Wales. East Wales and further East should see pretty much snow all the way.

The Met Office have kept us under an Advisory for Heavy Snow showers tomorrow with 2-5cm likely and 10-15cm likely over the Hills. This was last updated in the last hour.

Its also nice to see the Midlands thread is actually alive today!

Definately keeping an eye on this thread, as the snowfall you receive will hopefully carry on into East Anglia afterwards.

Hopefully it will start to slow down over the Midlands, as it is forecast to move through quite quickly.

Look how well the GFS has picked up this front and it's accuracy...

Left one is 12:00 GFS and the right one the actual radar at 12.

Let's hope it continues this trend!

im pretty near to north midlands and if the gfs prediction keeps trending on radar then east midlands will be good as the north sea keeps it more heavier than the west
