this might sound rediculous but I wonder if the warm sector is being funneled up between the cotswolds and the welsh mountains? - freezing rain and sleet in that area - temps and dewpoints seem to point to this with the cold maybe not budging in other areas ..

I'm thinking the old fashioned method of go to bed and look out the window in the morning for snow might have been the most sensible option! Still nothing of note here.

...this past 14 roller-coaster days as aged me. :(

I will give a bit longer as some up North had blizzard condition's so we could get a white out..

At least we are marginal, could tip the other way shortly

I'm trying my hardest to detect pieces of sleet amongst this moderate rain...

2.8c here currently not expecting much snow till much later on, must admit if we get freezing rain it will be first for a while, in fact can't remember the last time we got freezing rain?

hopefully we may get some snow showers tommorow

that may hold some truth...I was researching the Cotworlds recently and found out that these valley's can have there own climate's of extreme's..

Somewhere on the Met

70% rain 30% snow :(:(

I love the rain :(

Good news James

Hey Dogs - fb request sent - didnt know you were a musician btw. Yeah I can imagine that - would be intersting to see what you found out. XC weather seems to tally up pretty well, along with the rain today radar - showing freezing rain up to the cotswolds and snow as it passes over/this side - we'll see here in a few minutes though I supose

Well, I am 4 miles north of Poole.... I want to be optomistic...but, I reckon we will get rain to start with followed by sleet.

I can not help be hopefull tho reading observations, posts and looking at the radar, looks slightly better than forecast.

Please someone give me some hope!

Yes really turning now - attempting to stay on the cars - if it keeps going a little while we may get a covering.

Wow now 1.4C!

Great to hear! First drops of rain and flakes of snow flying around at the moment. Can see spots on the patio of rain but can see flakes settling on the palm outside our patio door. Quite light though at present.

Seems like the cold front is quite well defined now behind the initial front. All falling as snow inland about 30 - 40 miles behind except for the extreme Western edge on West Wales coast
