I'll take the fog it will keep the temperature pegged back and we might get an ice day. Since we arent going to get any snow from this cold spell then an ice day will have to be the next best thing, -1.2C here at the moment.

Just snowed here :bad: hope we get more.

Fingers crossed, Ian did say in his earlier forecast, that Bristol would see some snow today and he was right

Morning all!

More snow over night, and then at about 7.15 the heavens opened and it snowed pretty heavily for 30mins or so so nice and white out.

Sun is shining now though, and south facing hills are losing the snow. Luckily, north facing here!

Not a bad little end to the cold snap. Temps look likely to head up to 7-8 in Plymouth today and tomorrow. So I guess thats that then.

I still think thursday evening is worth keeping an eye on especialy for high ground as long as that cold air can cling on i might still have snow cover on xmas day even if it doesnt snow. drinks.gif

Fog still lingering here, ice and frozen snow on road and pavements prevailent in most areas, really is hazardous if your not careful.

Current temp -1.2ccold.gif

I think the predicted rain for tomorow will sort that snow out. Unfortunately.

I'm delighted to see a little top up of yesterday's snow this morning, everything is coated in white which is lovely and I can see some cu-nimbs showers to the west. Was not expecting this.

Looks like the showers are loosing the strength, not quite making it inland

-1.8C here but its testament to the strength still in the sun as the south facing hills have lost all their snow and the bits around here that are getting any sunshine are dripping away, dark clouds to the North though, so that might help out a little. About 2cm here so nothing to write home about and after last Feb I feel nothing is going to quite match it. Much akin to seeing fireworks at Disney World as a kid, they were never the same again.

Looking west I think thats it today for the Bristol area. Fine sunny day ahead with the thaw begining. Mild for xmas, the hopefully more cold towards new year.

I don't see a thaw unless we get rain tomoro to be honest and even then i shall remain hopeful while at work in britol that it might just be snow back home clap.gif

Id also love to get up to at least 5 days laying snow by the end of december.

I see lots of showerclouds around just to the west but nothing on the radar to suggest anything. Perhaps the snow from them is too light to be detected or something??

Anyway, although the temp is -1.3C here at present, the thaw has begun on the house rooves due to the sun but the snow remains as it is on the grass. I won't get my hopes up for many more snow showers I don't think.
