For the record, also attached the UKMO 4km high-res modelling of likely snowfall by 21Z tomorrow, again highlighting Cotswolds and upland Glos areas, but with the key focus across into the west, as earlier described. Note we expect this product to be under-estimating totals (refe to earlier post for better idea) but nonetheless offering a reasonable areal spread for snowfall potential.

Bed beckons; as does the 0300 alarm -

Cheers until tomorrow

Ian

well, shows us having to wait until thursday. Mind you, even that would be great

Yup that was a great post made by Ian on the SW thread.

Still got the GFS 18Z and the NAE run to go, it would be more promising if that low was shifted southwards again.

Indeed, for here I expect a wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow, that may give temporary coverings, so I would gladly take 5cm, if the front is further south than projected it could really help us out.

Drizzle pushing into SW England

Notice how the warm front is struggling to make progress waiting for the cold front to reach us early hrs.I wonder if this front will get further than mid wales.

temp up to 1.2C :pardon:.

may be from more cloud cover but I hope the temperature falls away quickly before the front arrives.

The 18z GFS gives another shift southward.

GFS 18Z @ 18h: http://charts.netwea.../h850t850eu.png

and the 12z @ 18h: http://charts.netwea.../h850t850eu.png

Slight improvement i would say from the GFS.

I can see a few definite things in this cold spell.

1. There is going to be a lot of bleary eyes in the morning.

2. Your neighboutrs are gonna think you have a problem peeking out the window every 5 mins.

3. The forum is gonna be pretty bvusy until silly o'clock with all us snow addicts.

I can't wait and only a few hours until it all kicks off one way or another :drunk:

Hey guys- I Dont come in this thread very often- however looking at the 18z & runs that are available today I wish everyone in wales the best of luck towards deep accumulating snow in the next few days-

Somewhere in the bullseye zone will reach 35/40cm- somewhere close to snowden...

best wishes

Steve

Hi mate, reckon we'll get any snow?

18z has moved things south again - meaning colder air will get in and undercut the front sooner - if you don't get it straight away - it won't be long before you do!

Getting conflicting information... some are saying we will get it, others are saying we won't. At 330m asl, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Definately agree. Mainly rain/sleet for South Wales. However, I think its safe to say that wherever the snow falls it will be deep.

Looks like any wintry falls tommorow will turn to snow tuesday night cold air digging in earlier.
