I must be really very unlucky here. No clouds at all today, just sunshine, any snow/flurries aren't falling here. However, it's icy though, red sky towards the horizon!

I must be really very unlucky here. No clouds at all today, just sunshine, which is fine really. Just any snow/flurries aren't falling here. However, it's icy out, red sky towards the horizon!

0.3c with dewpoint at -1c down here in Folkestone right now.

Considering the sun has just gone down think this could be quite a cold night to put it mildly.

-1.9 now in dartford - if this keeps up it might be a hot water bottle night

And checking the weather station a lot better than enduring the Wizard of Oz

Anyone think those showers in the North Sea east of Scotland, approaching NE England will have the legs to make it down the east side of the UK? or will they die out before too long?

but even if they do survice the treck it looks as tho they will be a bit too far west? anyone agree

I agree - Perhaps passing just to the North West of London. But then we could see a minor change in wind direction that would change all that, all we can do is watch them to see where they go.

This is my first attempt at forecasting anything like this (in fact it is only the 2nd time i looked at the radar i am normally a look out the window type of person) but assuming they do survive i would have thought the showers out to sea between Edinbourgh and Newcastle would have a very good chance of hitting our area, the big question is would they make it over East Anglia before they died away. Probably totally wrong as usual (just ask the wife) but we will no doubt find out much later tonight.

Hi, I watched the BBC weather forecast about 30mins ago and they believe the snow coming down from Scotland will head out into the North Sea (moving quickly east) missing our area (south East). Are they correct?

I think its heading due South and will hit out area in four/five hours..... What do we think? Do we have a chance tonight? (I hope so)

Thanks,

Magic Bat

Welcome!

Ditto that to the two newcomerssmile.gif

Judging by those latest faxes it could be the case that we are not going to have wait long at all before the next snowfall. Looks very interesting tomorrow night into Sunday as well

yes the faxes do look good! people on two are saying we could get 3 - 5 cm across the south east tommorow night! intresting on the fax it shows 1 trough 2morow night and another midday sunday!

really lost faith with the bbc forecasts my local forecast only mentioned a few wintry showers tonight which i cant see happening tonight! and then they said the rest of the outlook will be fine and dry + i feel they are over doing max temps they are rubbish!

good luck to all for snow falls in this cold snap and Happy new year!
