Has anyone else noticed the large clutch of showers out in the eastern north sea, that seem to be making their way west, hopefuly towards us. What does anybody else think about them???

Mostly falling as sleet here, just got back from York and it was snowing all the way until we reached North Dalton and then turned to sleet.

Not enough Southward movement to affect us.

I hope it freezes soon as the snow is melting. It's still snowing but only light.

There's another heavier band to the north mate, and intensifying slightly :) .

Just been to Asda and its still snowing! We have about 5cm of fresh snowfall here, and looking at the radar the flow has changed , the line of snow is now running from east to west which Is great for here.yahoo.gif

Temp: -0.8c

Dew: -1.2c

Hmmm, yeah I can see that on the Radar.. interesting development. :) If the veers to a S then this region might just be in with a chance of seeing them showers filtering down from Southern Scotland - although I believe the chance is very slim.

well im on the coast (two mins from Donna Nook and all i can see is sleet and heavy sleet as well :)

LO

8 miles away and all we have is sleet too. Very disappointing. Dew Points obviously too high along the coast - we'll need to watch that going into next week, at least according into the 12z GFS output.

Dew and temp wont be a problem next week.

Certainly too early to worry about much, but the 12z GFS does flirt with +c dewpoints at times along the coast until the middle of the week. Will no doubt change, but thats what it showed.

It's much heavier now mate, but i'd say about an inch in places where the previous falls haven't melted.

EDIT i'd say nearer 4cm mate.

Actually, you're right. Re-reading the output it looks fine by Tuesday late morning.

Cetainly a nice end to the snow band, it's as heavy as it's been over the last 5-10mins, should see a good hard frost tonight over the snowfields :drinks:
