honey-a favour please

can you let me know when the snow both eases off and when it stops-when it does if you could attempt a reasonably accurate measurement I'd be very grateful.

the same for others please-accurate comments and I mean accurate comments like this will help get it right for further south.

many thanks

John

Are you sure that is down to snow? As most of Leeds has 4 inches+ and I have 6-8 inches and we haven't lost power, and Leeds has more snow than Sheffield ATM.

Have just asked on sheff fourm and no one seems to be reporting power outages in any areas yet. Is there a source for this information?

4cm in Strensall, N York but the snow has stopped now.

That's similar to what I have, although, it looks a lot more because of all the snow cover from the last spell. It's still snowing here, but only lightly.

6z trickling out and upgrades again. shows this band grinding to a halt and intensifying. i know we are down to nowcasting but still looks interesting. also the main event down south has moved a little further north east, including london!!

Hi John,

Latest from East Hull...

About 1cm, Temp 1.1c with a dew of 0.5, only light precip but falling heavier due to saturation and close dew and temps.

I will keep you all posted.

Haha! Metoffice mate,

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/yh/scarborough_forecast_weather.html

Thats at 3.00 tomorrow morning with sleet showers. I must say I'm surprised at the forecast of no showers even here on the coast today. I think I'll watch the radar! After all we were forecast light rain only 6 hours ago and now we have 3 inches of laying snow!

It's stopped here now and thick fog has set in.

The radar is showing some beefy showers just north of Newcastle heading our way. I'll keep an eye on it!

Temp -0.4 and my dew point has knackered again showing -175C Grrrr! :)

It must be isolated, because there are several active posters on sheff fourm who are city centre based

I'm giving up with most of these computer model generated forecasts! The most accurate I've had is from the NW forecasters and you guys on here! I'll stick with that I think! :)
