Model output thread going for big downgrade for snow. Latest GFS all gone east.

Actually it hasnt if you look more carefully, its spread out over a larger area with lighter precip but its still across the same areas in the west as the NAE (perhaps a touch further north) and falling for longer than on the 0z

Back to the here and now it genuinely cant be any more than 10 mins away at the most! very slow moving

Kind Regards

SK

edit: just started here

We've already discussed the latest GFS and it gives us 6cm in any case! Its graphics are already out of date anyway, looking at the latest situation.

Should be here any minute now DOGS! :whistling:

Still looks good to me Aspire, going from the latest NAE 06Z it actually ups the totals furher west, GFS 06Z, takes it slightly eastwards(if you believe it over the higher res METO model, but still has totals widely of 10-15cms over the SW, higher in some areas.

any more bad news you want to give ?.

Fabulous heavy snow here. They've just shut my school so I'll be running back home through the snow: gorgeous.

I must say that this part of north Devon, about 15-20 miles inland and at around 400-500 ft elevation really catches the snow when it comes in. It's a stunningly beautiful sight.

Snowing in North Bristol

Not snowing here in Downend yet, we can only be a few miles apart, as the crow flies, so fingers crossed!

I am getting stupidly anxious about this snow.

Wasn't it supposed to be snow showers during the day, but then the big one comes this evening and into tomorrow? That's how I understood it.....

Please, please, please, let it be so.... :(

Some of us, me included, seem to be fretting quite a bit. But in 12 hours' time, we might all be having the time of our lives. :pardon::cold:

Let's keep hoping and praying and willing and keeping everything crossed. :good:

Poor old mullender :nea: ...I wonder if he's keeping track of all this? Where is it that he's gone to?

Austria, he'll have his fair share there so I don't feel too bad for him. Still, it's not like waking up to snow in your own garden, that's infinitely more exciting.

Good morning, WIB. :)

Has your son been out for a play in the snow yet, or is he still a bit too young?
