On the NW radar it appears that the greener blobs are getting smaller and smaller, is this something we should be worried about?

Unfortunately it was. There is a spike of 2/3C Theta-W values embedded in the southern part of the low. Since early forecasts put the low way west of the region, it was presumed that this spike would be over southern Somerset, or something: now it is further east, and a little further north.

Height makes all the difference - no sign of rain here just 10 miles north and 300ft higher.

VP , is this the same for tomorrow as the front stalls over se

Erm, I am also in Gravesend, and it is snowing heavily outside my window - large flakes and settling nicely!

Same here...I am at 83m asl though so I suppose it helps to have a little altitude in these marginal situations.

Don't want to boast BUT here in South Redhill you cannot tell where the road ends and where the curbs start....and it is still very heavy snowfall. Well I did miss out on the the streamer last Feb!!!!!

18z NAE still gives 5cms of snow to southern Essex...

Pretty much if the front gets to the north or over us, then its going to have to come back south again Paul, thats the way to veiw it...but we really should get a good few hours of heavier snow here in S.Essex before it moves off further south.

T+24 fax for 6pm tomorrow looks good for you guys in S Essex, a front and an ENE flow off the Estuary:

Still snow here, but lighter with smaller flakes.

Hi All,

Have been reading all day conflicted by the fact I NEED to go to work tomorrow as I was off sick today but would really like to have some white stuff.

Perhaps for a change i'll be wading into snow instead of out of it - depends on the underground i guess!!

Either way at least 5 layers of clothing topped by ski wear!

Siding with the little/no snow for us here is essex (we're always the special ones).

Wishing you all the weather you want xxx

Just been out for a short drive, roads are a nightmare.

And, no word of a lie someone was snowboarding around the side roads towed by a car!

I will have all melted by the morning!

Of course it won't but that's likely to be my only chance of doing any sledging in the next couple of days! :help:
