It's very cloudy here and I agree to a possibility of the ppn stalling over Kent. Could stall over the rest of the SE too :)

Up in Barnet it's coming down HEAVY as snow. Showing signs of settling on grass.

Cool, there have been flakes in the air all day here, so hopefully it will snow for a short time to brighten things up here.

EDIT: Just started snowing here, but it is very, very wet snow and so unlikely to settle.

RE EDIT: More rain than snow now... :)

Moderate snow now falling in Walton-on-the-Hill Nr Reigate, surrey.

Huge flakes blowing in the wind, signs it may well settle, but looking at raintoday radar, its only going to be a shortlived shower :-(

Blizzard conditions now.........total whiteout !

this line of ppn has got wider to ! looks like kent could get snow from this as it might slow down and they have lower dew points stayingcold.gif

It's doing it's normal routine of skirting around me at the moment. The ppn hasn't got heavy enough to fall as snow, so the ground is completely damp now, so unless the ppn decides to expand and increase then it is just an extra bit of dampness to make the evening commute that much more uncomfortable.

What a shame.

Well somehow the ppn has skirted round me!!!! It was never heavy enough to fall as proper snow and has now seemingly passed me by. The ground is only just a little bit damp, so don't get your hopes up people. Unless it decides to do it's normal trick of building again once it passes the capital.

If you have NW radar and can be bothered, try putting in W11 into the NW postcode search and see how the ppn just disappears at it hits two tiny hills (Campden Hill (W8) @ 42m asl and Notting Hill (W11) @ 32m asl) it causes a tiny microclimate here and even though they are such small hills, they really make a huge difference.

Looking at the radar there seem to be 3 bands of ppt ,one is going east ish, centre over london, looks to be doing about 20 mph. Not very long of wide but seems intense. Could affect anywhere in London , South Essex ,Kent but only briefly.

There are two more banks behind that , approaching at aout 80 and 160 miles respectively.

Lets wait and see.
