With correction I think 15.3c. So not a particularly intriguing month.

That would be good news for my June CET guess! We'll see.

15.0C to the 25th

http://hadobs.metoffice.com/hadcet/cet_info_mean.html

Yesterday came in at 16.8C. Minimum for today is down as 12.2C and the max looks like being around 25C, so an average of over 18C looks quite likely.

I see us finishing at 15.5C now, perhaps 15.2C or 15.3C after adjustments?

15.1C to the 26th.

http://hadobs.metoffice.com/hadcet/cet_info_mean.html

Yesterday was a very high 19.1C, mainly thanks to the highest max of the year so far at 26.0C. Minimum for today is 13.4C, also the highest of the year so far, so 15.2C or, more likely, 15.3C by tomorrows update.

15.3C to the 27th.

http://hadobs.metoffice.com/hadcet/cet_info_mean.html

Yesterday came in at 19.4C. Minimum is down as 12.2C today, maxes probably around 25C so up to 15.4C for tomorrow. Small chance of getting to 15.7C by the 30th, temperatures seem to keep getting higher closer to T-0.

Suspect we will end up at about 15.5 degrees, downward adjustments look likely thanks to the cool minima in the second week. It will go down as a decently above average June, not sure where on the list of warmest Junes or when the last warmer June was?

I'm relatively sure last June was above average but not particularly so. I would have thought the last 'warmer' June was 2006?

CET now up to 15.4

Last night was a very balmy 15.0, so another 0.2C increase before month end looks likely.

15.2 to 15.5 looks likely after any recalibration occurs.

Wish they would recalibrate upwards a few points for a change.

The figure up to the 29th is 15.53, should this not be rounded up to 15.6?

I agree with 15.6C by tomorrow, just a question of adjustments now.

nope

it would need to be 15.56 before rounding up

15.55c or higher to the .00 place should be rounded to 15.6c.

Very high maxima offset by only just higher than average minima.

nope

see my reply to the one above 15.55 is still 15

15.56 would be 15.6

Thanks, don't know why I thought it should be round up to 15.6, I was probably thinking of 15.553 or something

I had always learned in school to round up if for 5 or above, why do the Met Office do it differently?

That's because the official figures have been released (very quickly too), and the month has indeed been confirmed at 15.2C - a drop of 0.4C from the provisional figure.

As I suspected the their has been a fair downward correction probably as a result of minima being recorded too highly I suspect, there were some notably cool nights this month.

A decently above average June but nothing spectacular - seems about right, it has probably felt much warmer than the figure suggests on the back of the cold May and absence of any real prolonged mild weather all year. Also the warmth conincided with dry sunny weather.
