Just up the road from here and a sobering reminder http://www.bbc.co.uk...d-tyne-13509428

It's still really wild here, constant heavy gusts probably one of the worst wind storms I have seen for ages even for the north, and in May makes it seem all the more strange. I am off down the coast to see what it's like down there I will get some pics for later.

Very windy day here with gales battering Cumbria, although not as strong as experienced further north but still gusts up to and over 60mph. Lots of tree debris and some branches been blown off.

RIP the people who lost there lives today due to the severe gales.

Looks like there could be another storm on it's way for next Monday.

GFS 12z

However we see some disagreement from the other models,

GFS low 988mb.

ECM low 1000mb.

UKMO low 995mb.

Could just be the GFS overdoing things as usual but it will be interesting what the 12z runs for the ECM and UKMO say later.

Morning, Sean.

Yep, the low is still looking rather potent on this morning's Models. The GFS has a centre of around 995mb and the ECM a centre of 990mb, with some rather steep pressure gradients. Looks as if you're right in the firing line again mate. The Depression doesn't appear to be quite as deep on the UK METO, however.

Yeah I'm always in its path laugh.gif. Still some disagreement on how low it's meant to be UKMO has been saying for ages now nothing to severe just a windy day but both the GFS and ECM can't make up their mind on what is going to happen. Although I don't expect it to be any way near as bad as the 23rd of May storm.

12z runs are all out now,

GFS 995mb.

ECM 1000mb.

UKMO 1000mb.

I expect the GFS to follow the other two over the next day. So don't think we will see anything serious.

Looks as if the UK Meto had the depth of the depression spot on all along. All Models appear to be in agreement and are now suggesting a depth of around 1000mb. which means it will be windy but not significantly so.

It's used to always be the GFS that over exaggerated the depth of these systems and then downgraded them nearer the time. However, It seems to be the ECM that's throwing out these mega storms in F.I. Anyway, we got there in the end mate :D

Looking quite lively for a time tomorrow in the North and West, gales over coasts and hills with gusts of 50-60mph possible, Meto giving gusts around 55mph for my location from late morning to early afternoon. A very windy spell coming up.

The wind hasn't had a mention for tomorrow - this will be more note worthy than the rain, potential for a few branches coming down.

Some impressive wind speeds here on the Cumbrian coast this afternoon, the wind really picked up ahead of a narrow band of squally rain.

Certainly breezy this afternoon top gust so far 46 mph. As you mention though at the moment there seems to be a squall line working down the country whether it will survive this far is another question. If it does I'm expecting to top 46 mph.

GFS has another interesting feature T111 to T126 which could give damaging gusts for Northern Ireland and Western Scotland northwards.
