Hi Jennyjane here, had to reregister as JennyJane1 as couldn't log in with old account for some reaosn, looking forward to winter and the promised "little iceage" weather here can't decided if it wants to be hot or cold, (Great yarmouth coastal area, Norfolk) also looking forward to the splits into the regional areas as the weather gets cooler.

Weather front is approaching here with strong winds picking up (38mph here but 72mph reported in North Wales). Have not looked at the radar but the front must be just north of Leeds because there is a large thermal gradient between Carlisle and Leeds, 15C ahead of the front but 3C behind.

Well that was fun!!!

Had to run my Son's school mate home so we were up on the moor as the front hit us ( 6:55?). We ( Son and I) popped out of the car for a 'taste' of it.

Much fun! Like standing with the shower full blast in your face!

J' decided to have an open window for part of the journey back and so was well soaked by the end of it as the better part of the run down the Hill had it full in his face!!!

I'll turn him onto 'Weather' before I'm done!!!

Raining very heavily now with gusts now up to 43mph.

Temperature drop should be interesting, it was 11C before it started.

Made me laugh...I think I probably look like that little penguin that when it snows, I get so excited yahoo.gif

Looking forward to the real regional forums opening and hopefully this season plenty of interesting weather.

As long as 'interesting' means at least as much snow as last year if not more then yes....I'm with you on that one clap.gif

Very breezy here in suburban Southampton this morning. Bucket being blown about and the conservatory door has just unhooked itself. According to southamptonweather.co.uk the biggest gust today was 24.2mph and it occasionally records 5 Bft.

Hoping for plenty of snow and penguins :-)

The Daily Express and Daily Mail both lead on a big freeze heading our way within the next fortnight... the chap who is predicting this is the same one that predicted snowfall in October...so not sure his forecasts are that reliable but does anyone here think there could be some truth in this?

Thanks.

Yeah spotted that, the thing is they are in danger of crying wolf once too often, they will predict a big freeze no one will take any notice and it will be the worst for 100's of years.

Hi everyone. It's still a bit warm for my liking, but things are starting to cool down now. I just hope today's chill is not a fluke. I really couldn't stand a warm wet winter. I want frost and snow.
