It'll be interesting to see if those cells can make it here. Im not confident at the moment as theres a 10mph onshore breeze from the east and they'll no doubt die as they hit it!

It could be one of those days that TWS has mentioned in the past where inland sees incredible storms while the first few miles in from the coast remain dry. Hopefully not though.

Plenty of showers around the nottingham area all of a sudden, which could effect my area in a little while as they move NE

Incredible storm here. The neighbours are having to use buckets to stop the water from entering their front doors.

We might be getting the remains of that here - thunder and forked lightning here, with moderate rain falling now.

It's gone very cloudy and overcast here, I'm not expecting much more for the rest of the day.

The Kempston/Bedford storm shield was working well today. deflecting storms north and south by only a few miles.

Looks like things could get quite interesting further north and east for the rest of the afternoon/evening?

Here are a couple of pics showing the huge hail and the river outside my front door!

Some cells springing up to my East which does not surprise me as the sky is getting darker here now with yellowy tinged areas like you get when stormy.

Lots of cells popping up in South Yorkshire now. One just popped up over me at work in Normanton, loud thunder and heavy rain bouncing off the office roof. 30 mins and I'm out of here :)

Showers popping up all over West Yorkshire now with rain and rumbles heading in to Leeds from the south west. Incidentally, there are now loads of seagulls flocking round the south of the city near Elland Road - is this a sign of anything?!

VERY Hot and humid feeling here with excellent convection. Looks like my estimation of the Thunder hotspot today was right. Some showers forming to my SW now. It really feels like it wants to go out with a bang this.

just got in from post office and the atmosphere is truly explosive. Thunder could be heard for about 5minutes as the storm formed literally like 5 miles to the east of me and then drifted east :wallbash: They are forming closer to me now though, surely we should get something!!!:pardon:
