The storm has passed just to the south of Leeds city centre but has produced at least 10 cracks of thunder and torrential rain intermittantly for 15-20 minutes. Skies very black to the east but sunny and blue skies to the west. North east Leeds looks like it is getting a pasting at the moment.

Out chasing ATM, between huntingdon and Cambridge just off A14 watching an oncoming storm. No electrical stuff witnessed yet, but warm winds picking up as it gets closer

Just to add insult to injury, there's a nice 20 mile gap between the cell the past south and the cell's that look like passing north....time will tell.

Nothing at all here. Ziltch. Well apart from milky skies and the cumulus fields blocking out the sun every now & again, looks like the spine of the Pennines will be the dictating W-E force today. Sigh. Always the front coming out West later on into tonight and the morning that might bring something.

Still very dark here over RAF Henlow, Beds.

Been thundering for a good 45 mins so far.

Very dark sky, looks like its heading over A1 towards Biggleswade. no rain, very little wind and still warm and humid.

No lighting (that I have seen sofar) but lots of thunder!

Aye, looking grim now this side of the Pennines. To be honest nothing was expected to happen here today anyway so can't grumble :p

Bloody annoying here in Newbury, :wallbash:

Just as things were looking reasonably hopeful a large sheet of cirrostratus is invading from the southwest. :wallbash:

According to SAT24 animations, it may well clear come 4pm time but that's surely put the mockers on our (Joneseye etc.) hopes in the West Berkshire area.

Temperature peaking at 25.4c and a DP of 18.6c, oh how things could have been. Good Luck to all the other storm starved folk in here.

Desperate Regards

I think I've been elsewhere in the UK when we've had a direct hit. I bought a DSLR a few years back and that was the kiss of death!
