I was surprised to be woken up by thunder and lightning last night.

1C & odd sleety stuff flying around. Very dark still & wind picking up. Lying snow looking a bit sad now but not shifting much. Glad I don't have to go out today... o but I do, rubbish and cabbage water later.

Very little further snow ater I went to bed, couple of showers this morning but it has been snowing like hell and very windy for the last 15 mins. Snow depth still at 19cm but expect a good top up from this band

Heavy wet snow again, gusty wind. Must be quite messy in Sutherland by now!

The metoffice seem to have removed their wind warning. Does this mean that things have changed, does anyone know? x

It normally means something has changed in the Matrix ... red warnings on the way ?

Managed to hold on to an inch of snow here, but everything is green down in Glenrothes.

think they may be refining/updating it, just reading the Storm Thread and it appears it may be intensifying and tracking slightly south meaning SW Scotland/N England in main firing line.. they (our fine storm folks) did say yesterday that the track would be better able to be clarified today

nowcast: had a teency icing sugar coating about 1am which is now being washed away by rain

Are you saying that we're all living false lives in some kind of virtual reality nightmare that only Keanu Reeves can save us from? Heavens, that's worse than any storm!

Thanks. There I was thinking the risk had passed. x Wishing you a wonderful day. x

Do you think it might miss the SE of Scotland? We are about 8 miles north of Duns on a sporting estate - we are very exposed here and it's blowing quite badly even now. Hope you have a wonderful day. x

Despite rain last night, there's still nearly 100% snowcover in Moffat but it's looking a bit wilted. The snow in the hills should still be in condition though.

they will be updating there forecast I would be pretty surprised if there wasn't at least a amber warning for the central belt

for Thursday into Friday morning

I would expect a RED warning for most of Scotland from the met-office for tomorrow ? that is one nasty bad boy of a LP system.

Seen some lightning last night as well , only 1 flash though and it was quite distant..although someone else said on my FB it was on for ages.

hey todd yeah not surprised at all that rain was pretty heavy last night as for Thursday Friday low your probably right about red alerts but with the low

projected to be further south and the met-office still going for the potential for snow on Thursday i suspect it will be a hard one for the met to call

yeah sounds like sensationalist hype from the daily mail

I wonder if the met-office are going to be more concerned about blizzard potential rather than wind ? "just a thought"
