I'm not too sure how much more I can take...I'll be grey by the end of February at this rate ;)

Still early days and a shortwave could very easy scupper any pure easterly flow, thougheither way it looks like we are heading towards the freezer and easily the coldest week since the last week of December 2010.

IF thwe ECM came off, expect very snowy conditions, indeed the model produces siome decent showers for the Thames Esturary and north Kent in particular between 144-168hrs and the models do tend to big time underdo things.

So for now, I'd suggest looking forward to the return of night time frosts...and then who knows!!

this is what we want to see with a stiff easterly wind

shame its not a bit colder but showers seem to be

brewing off the north sea

I am not sure we'll see much more that a bit of a sprinkle this neck of the woods for the next couple of days, but I am patient enough to wait to the latter part of the week, which at present, looks a little more promising. After the last couple of weeks model watching it's really good to see at least a little snipette of cold.

Anyone else have husbands/boyfriends/wives/children/co-wokers sick to death of you talking about snow for the last three months? :)

Sleet showing across parts of mid-Kent on the radar at the moment - can anyone verify?

Edit: Shunter beat me to it :)

fax chart for 120 is out

http://nwstatic.co.uk/fax/PPVO89.png

the 528 dam line across virtually the whole of the uk

the block have moved much further west

look at the 510 dam line approaching with a small front to our east

this is a proper easterly

i would not rule out potential streamers from that chart :drinks:

Yeah TeamJollie, my wife is sick of me talking about the snow, my kids however are looking forward to it!

Jimmyh, Yamkin is no doubt on the phone ordering snow ploughs for Croydon as gritters won't be able to get out!

Why are people saying it will be as cold as Dec 2010 later in the week when back then the uppers were around -10, and this time around a lot lower (I know to expect some downgrades down the line), so surely we will see a lot colder conditions. Just wondering.

Can't wait for Wednesday, when it will be madness in here, and clicking refresh every minute gets you about 20 new posts,
