Plenty of light showers brewing out at sea and heading in. Even further North might catch a flurry as we've had most of this morning.

Certainly an interesting event, although we need to be careful as small shifts further east or west will make a huge difference to what we get. The GFS 6z for example has shifted slightly further east than the 0z. If this becomes a trend then it will mean the difference between an all snow event, and a snow to rain/sleet.

The 6z for example looks knife edge as to whether we see an all snow event, or it turning to rain/sleet

Its going to be a nail biting few days, keep an eye on the NAE is as the fronts comes into that timeframe. If we want all snow event we need to hope that models don't shift anymore east.

You'll definitively see snow, as will all our region. Although questions such as how much, how long will it last and will it turn to rain will have to wait till much nearer the time :)

Metoffice have the milder air a little bit closer to Eastern parts of Yorkshire judging by their model.

Yeah they do appear to - definitely a case of the further east and south you are the better chances you have of more prolonged snowfall.

Yeah it'd be cool if the showers pushed inland but there making pretty slow progress. Scarborough looks to be prime position though for any snowfall today.

Yeah I'm not entirely sure what's happening. The Met Office's twitter page says they're having some difficulties getting the warnings up on the website but as far as I'm aware they're the same as the ones that were temporarily visible earlier on.

Ok, I'm about as far west as you can get without being over the tops into Lancashire, so whats the chances of us seeing some significant snowfall this weekend in West Yorkshire? This week has been a bit depressing and boring so far with cloudy skies and temps hovering around 1-2degs. :lazy:

It'd be lovely to get excited about something other than clouds! :acute:

Heavy snowfall for whole of Yorkshire, all areas should see snow from start to finish as highlighted on the ECm

And then more snow projected later next week

post-8968-0-53251600-1328196866_thumb.pn

Next week snowfall is likely to change, still something to look forward to. I'm confident we will see more snowfall after Saturdays. It'll be either from an easterly or the Atlantic trying to push in bumping against the colder air.
