Okay just read through 10 pages of the model discussion... phew...

West vs East... who will win? Only one way to find out FIGHT!!!!

Seriously for a moment though I am liking what I see in the ECM and to a lesser extent the GFS it looks like we could be heading back into the freezer sooner than we think.

In the reliable timeframe I am starting to have my hopes up for this weekend. :good: :good:

Ohh nice.... just popped my head through the curtains.. the heaviest snow fall I have seen all winter. Which isn't saying a lot to be honest.. nice all the same... light to moderate... this evening's tyre tracks from traffic passing by are now covered. :D

Hope so. Pretty light though, graupel. No big flakes or nothing.

That seems to be it looking at the raintodar though. That big swirl to the NE of Middlesbrough looks tasty though... doesn't actually appear to be going anywhere.. just spinning lol

Its snowing heavily here again from that last rogue shower passing over. Large flakes but ground temps (here at work at least) must be pretty high as there is some melting going on despite the air temperature being -0.8C.

Even here near to the coast it has dropped to -4.2C (and still falling rapidly) now the cloud has cleared. Ill have to check when I get home but it could well be the coldest February night for quite some time in this location.

Ive just arrived home and theres an inch of level snow. Very cold too with a min temp of -5.1C, which is the coldest in February here since 1994. Not a bad result.

Showers feeding into to Lincolnshire from the NE have unsurprisingly left a dusting in most places around East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, even parts of the far-east of the Midlands.

Radar shows 1mm (1cm of snow) widely across parts of Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire o/ the past 12 hours. Top values are in North Holland and Boston, and Hornsea in E Yorkshire. Values of falling snow in these areas have been roughly 4-6cm in the past 12 hours.
