I think it has slowed up considerably in the last half hour - getting stuck on a line through Oxford

Though at the back of the band it looks like turning to rain? So I can expect any snow to become slushy?

This fits with the 3.00pm Beeb forecast where they mentioned the 'possibility' of 15cms somewhere. I would think that 'somewhere' will be in either Suffolk, Essex or Kent? Probably just wishful thinking though!

To be honest, the event doesn't start until 4:30 here, possibly slightly earlier :p

It's gaining intensity though!

Dont worry, the NAE 12z is a HUGE UPGRADE - Most of London and pretty much the whole region will have a 13 - 18cm Snow pack by the time any light rain comes through (if it does turn to rain at all!)

Hello from the west bit of our region. Can confirm its very cloudy here in brentford. We lost the sun a short while ago. Barely above freezing here. Off to the shops to get some wine as think tonight gonna be a long one...

Likewise here; except I'm already on the wine. :good:

Cloud is getting thicker in SE London, and has a wonderful communist era cold grey colour to it. Lovely stuff.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a few patchy flakes popping up in South London over the next 30 - 60 mins.

Of course, we are all expecting that here!!!! A slightly disconcerting note I heard on the local radio and hour or so ago, they were saying Brighton was going to have sleet by the morning. It would be bad for people to the West of me if that really happened, but the charts were quite specific on there being a break around Beachy Head. I'm keeping fingers crossed for everyone in the SE tonight!

My offer for mulled wine in the local park is still open BTW!!!

Looking at rain today this band seems to be moving very quickly and looks to have rain behind it. If it is going to stall it will have to be abrubt or it'll be all over in a couple of hours.

Can it stall that fast?

Noob, been lurking & learning for a while!

It is indeed an upgrade, but i wouldn't take those accumulation charts too literally. They aren't that accurate.

awesome set of upgrades for the whole of the SE, we have the NAE, BBC, GFS, all singing from the same song sheet...and yet the MET OFFICE STILL have me down for sleet...mind you that sleet icon does cover a large area..they need bigger maps IMO , rain today have upgraded their PPN charts today, showing pink for snow, white for sleet, blue for rain, so that's what im glued to now for the next few hours..all in all, it's looking better and better the closer we get, (not often that happens) :-)

Netweather still has me down for 'Icy Rain' but other sites as snow...I always thought NW was the most accurate as well :(
