So, how do you all lampost watch?

Do you sit at the window staring at the lampost? Or do you get up and look out of the window every 5-10 minutes?

leave the curtain open enought to see the lamp post sit and wait lol

Hey Danny - I look out the window every so often...the ratio of looks per hour goes up as radar echoes get closer

Oh and it is snowing here! Now much but snow all the same

Edit: Stopped already

Every few minutes, depending on the intensity of the precip. No lamp post so it's a torch job, but once it's switched off the 'is it snowing harder yet?' question gnaws at my mind until I HAVE to turn it on again. I even keep the torch next to my bed for those late night 'just checking' moments.

So all totally normal really

Any ideas on timing for Saturday's main event ?

My wife is working at E Surrey Hospital until 19:30 and I'd like to make it home to Caterham without too much drama !!!

Then the fun can begin....

My point...Due to the moisture where the Mild air is closet to the cold air..I think this is where it will happen..Only ever seen it once..I have never seen snow flakes so big, think it was 2010? Where as in the east..It will be dry snow as you say...It sticks better too..

i have seen massive flakes once, a few years ago, i went food shopping at Tesco in Pembury, in Tunbridge Wells, i was walking back to the car and something hit me on the head, then all hell broke loose for about 5 mins as huge wet snow flakes(clumps) fell you could actually hear them hit the ground with a thud lol, never seen it since!

i have a lampost right outside my flat, as its only 1 bedroom, when my son stays over we sleep in the frontroom, and during 2010's event i made my wife and son sleep with the curtains open just so if i woke up during the night i could see if it was snowing!!! thats how hardcore i am, i make others suffer so i can watch the snow! lol

Okay That's it time to come out of the closet and stop lurking , as i have discovered many kindred "lampost watchers " like myself are out and proud. Complete novice really when it comes to weather but every winter i find myself lurking on this site as i know there is a lot of clever weather types here. In East Kent and peeking through my blind'd every 5 min's or so, nowt yet.

Every half hour I'll go outside and check how deep it's getting, haven't really got a lampost outside my windows, the nearest one is at a funny angle.
