You will be fine BT... Wait till around 3-6PM when the cold has undercut your area properly.

I was thinking around 3pm onwards too. Colder uppers from the NW.

Thanks.

its knife edge really mate im not sure either but we are waaayyy inland and have decent altitude which will help no doubt.

will it be enough tho?

If the mancs are getting snow I'm 1000% certain Ashton and Oldham will.

Hmm we'll have to wait and see. If we do get freezing rain though, it'll be lethal! never seen it before, hopefully there won't be many accidents.

I would guess that oldham / saddleworth would see snow rather than rain, afterall here in blackrod we are only about 120m above sea level and are seeing snow.

Temp rising here 1.9c now, rain still falling. The 850 temps aren't meant fall much lower than they are now which is about -2/-3c, might touch -4c but thats it.

I might have to pop out in a bit as i've never seen freezing rain before (assuming the convective shower from the Irish Sea lasts it's journey across the Cheshire Plain) so if i'm gone for a while you know where I am lol. Hopefully with snaps to bring back before the main snow event later on.
