to me liverpool airport appears to be bang on the money for their forecast so far...with heavy snow expected this afternoon which would tie in with the cold front over ireland at the moment

Cold front reintroduces the colder uppers thanks to a NW'erly feed, so if the warm front doesn't provide, I'm certain the cold front will.

this is very embarrassing, i mean light drizzle and a little bit of grauple, with sub zero temperatures and sub zero dp..the warm air aloft is doing a real number on us..everywhere is now wet..not to the point of puddles but if this crap keeps up it wont be long before we see them lol

Wind picked up too, there's a lot of snow but it's not like massive flakes, but sticking instantly due to the surface temps. Great sign for anyone east of me in Salford. Should also snow for other areas later on like Liverpool etc as the cold cuts in properly.

Plenty of puddles here.

If Manchester gets pasted and we miss out again, I will be very very angry...

I do hope you're right Hot Cuppa. I usually take your word for it but all the forecasts seem to have the snow skirting us. Still raining here but I don't think it's freezing rain... the garden just looks soggy!
