Just a word of caution to all. It's bloody lethal where the rain is freezing. I didn't enjoy my skating on the decking

Backtrack, you need to move. Runcorn is always going to be crap for snow. I drove over the woodhead pass last night and there's tons of snow. It's only an hour away from Runcorn.

Maybe that's because Woodhead is on top of the Pennines and I'm 50m asl?

I'm not going to move because it doesn't always snow.

FAX was progging the occlusion to occur across the Midlands/southern Pennines, taking the t-point down across the home counties by the late evening before the occlusion then makes headway again eastwards.

Freezing rain turning to snow now.

That stuff is lethal. This is providing a good base for snow later. :D

Been overcast all morning here in south west lancs, windy and really chilly wind at that, its 1.2 out there just this minute had a slight shower of rain, just seconds, then straight after very light snowflakes, the a very tiny bit of hail, still windy though.

Typical, ive been willing for snow all week and i dont want it now because we had to rush my dad into hospital yesterday with chest infection and pnemonia.

NE will be fine, you'll get the front when it's merged. Good luck!

We could be looking at an hour of freezing rain followed by snow here

TBF- BBC showed this starting as rain.

I'm trying to follow this thread to get an idea of what precipitation type is falling from the front, but I'm finding your constant mood swings a bit confusing! Anyway, I hope you all get loads of snow as that would probably mean I'd get snow too!
