Wind increasing. Still quite light snow, but enough to dust driveways and pavements. Sugar frosting on greenhouse...

Steady as she goes here in Knowle, modest snow has been falling for the past hour or so. The wind seems to have died right down.

Temp -1.6, DP -3.8

Snow seems just a little heavier now, though flakes are still small. Temp shows no signs of budging upwards, which is good -- still -1.3 °C!

We're doing alright so far aren't we? Some places in the north-west and western Wales are having a terrible time with this event..so we're lucky in that respect. However, the bit where we have to watch the easterners and south-easterners get dumped on as ours turns to rain is still to come. But that won't matter because we've had daytime snow!

I'm glad you're on today. Everytime we have a snow event it's your reports I watch out for. Bewdley is lower down than here so when it's good for you I know all will be well here. Added to the fact that Bewdley looks stunning covered in snow!

I remember waiting for you to report on the 17th/18th December 2010!

You'd certainly have an incrediblely hard time having a snowball fight here. Extremely light snow with sub mm sizeparticles.

Similar here. Though it wouldn't even amount to a sugar dusting, still to light for that.

Does appear to slowly be getting heavier as each minute goes by though.

I hope so.

MetO has me down for 6hours of heavy snow, can't quite see how it's going to last 6 hours but here's hoping. Just a shame it will be dark here, I can't remember the last time it snowed during the day here, the odds of it snowing at night seem to be far heavier than in the day for some reason.

Notice weve got 118 users on here now. Is this a record?

Here in Solihull the snow is getting moderate now after 2 hours of light snow and the lawn is also covering nicely

Temperature steady at -1.0C and the snow is blowing around a bit in a gusty SSE'sterly

MIA.

What do you reckon NW'wards AJ? PPN looks like it could build for a couple of hours yet, reckon we might get a nice depth if things stay on the right side of marginal.

nothing so far in northampton although i don't want it to start just yet as the temp is probably maximum now as it is mid afternoon. its above freezing now so i hope the snow doesn't start for another few hours yet.

Snow freak - dont know what happened then. I was posting my post above when it said I had posted a reply to you.

Anyway have no fear its coming and it is getting heavier all the time in the Brum area.

After your outrageous behaviour earlier today, I sincerely hope you copped a snowball in the "groinal area"
