Just had a call from my mate sailing just off the coast at Great Yarmouth and he told me he will be late back in tonight at Lowestoft because he is becalmed. Now that isn't something that happens all that often in these parts. No wind whatsoever.

Just looked out the window to see a flock of seagulls circling round over the park opposite and on closer inspection realised there is actually the odd snowflake in the air as well :good:

I find it odd that the MO have not revised thier warnings. Things look to be happening much further east than forecast!

Fasinating watching the radar. The band of precip across N England is moving S but the band across the N Sea is moving SW. This will soon merge together to bring a spell of snow. Also upper temps at 3pm are 0C but will drop to -3C in 2 hrs.

Do you think this is shaping up for a good snow event for the whole of the south now as opposed to what had been forecast yesterday and this morning?

Looking at the(free NW) radar it appears to be bucketing down something over much of Norfolk and Suffolk - yet there's not much excitement in here? Is this the vanishing ppt like we had last Saturday before it the real snow kicked in?

I'm a bit ambivalent over this event to be honest, it's such a pain getting around here at the moment with all the compacted snow, I'd quite like a brief thaw to clear that away before any more arrives.

Speaking of which, the northerly that appears to be firming up for next week - is that the sort of flow which could give us snow here?

Hi Jason, the Met office has warnings out for the region for snow tonight and tomorrow. This place will be busy later on.

Right on the East Coast at Felixstowe and the radar has been showing precipitation (snow) over us for at least the last hour with nothing falling!! The clouds have increasingly got darker from the east though in this time so just maybe?? Just want to prick those clouds with a pin and let the heavens open!!!

Dry as a bone here in Suffolk even though the radar is showing intense PPN right over me. The radar is having a tough time with the pressure being so high.
