Yep the 12z FINALLY notices that precip over the North Sea...something which our very own NMM has clocked onto for a good 3-4 runs now, as has the GFS to be fair.

System does look a little further SE than the 06z suite was expecting in general as well, regardless of the North Sea precip...

Finally something dropping from the sky in north Nottingham. Very fine at the moment and a little sleety. Still got 6cm lying snow in untouched shaded parts, lets see if we can get some more out of this.

Hmmm worrying sign from the NAE, the model has now fallen in line with the GFS with regards to the 850hpa profile...

Which means things will be more marginal than the earlier models were expecting and probably wrong side of marginal for at least the first half of the night, though 850 temps do come down by 3am in the W.Midlands.

Even more worrying, is the warmer nose of air is now visiable on the 950mbs chart where as before on the NAE it isn't...all suggesting this won't be as clear cut for the W.Midlands as the models painted this morning, especially as the system looks further east at the moment than the 06z suite suggested.

It's forecasts have flipped around. Leicester at about 2pm was predicted Light snow at 6pm, 9pm, 12am. Now it has turned too Heavy Snow for 6pm, 9pm, light snow for 12am. Yet forecasts for more western regions point towards lighter snow and rain.

Haha, last minute downgrades. Surprise, surprise. Lots of lampost watching this evening and overnight me thinks, scrap radar, scrap models. Had a feeling this would end up as a dissapointment and Im 80% sure im going to be bang on.

Steady rain in Telford and 2c, no shocks it looks further east now, snow and Telford just don't go in the same sentence.
