june is a time for warmth and sun, and it can't come soon enough!

Have to say I am looking forward to June or late May.

I'd definitely take last April too. I was in the Lake District over the Easter weekend. Drinking in beer gardens in t-shirts was a major bonus. :drunk:

Same here. Was in Centre Parcs last March, and it was really plesant. Going back this year same time...hoping it will be nice, but doubt it will be that warm again....

What a great post coast, really interesting, I think snow in June would just be funny, it would be gone so quick the warm weather lovers would be happy but a bit of mid year snow would be cool! I love summer but not too hot, is good the kids can get out but I do love the cold too! Never happy, I guess that's the female in me! Ha ha

Its like the opposite extreems we had in October last year - 80f+ at the beginning of October. It was surreal crunching through autumn leaves with my flip flops on that time of year!

Your so right, we had a BBQ at friends at the beginning of October, was very bizarre!

With regards to the regional threads closing once the winter weather is over. I would prefer to discuss the weather on a regional basis as it can vary from area to area and we all fall into the trap of IMBY when discussing the weather.

It will be down to how much use we can give them now, to justify the extra time to keep an eye on them. There are times in the Summer, or during phases of particularly uninteresting weather (yes I know, even we can get bored with it!!), where we go for days without a post in relevant subjects. Anyway, that's not down to me, you need to lobby the red team if you feel strongly that regional threads are what you want all year 'round!!!

Anyway, lets not get worried about after Winter just yet.

Trends and patterns?

That chart looks better than some of the ones we had when it was actually snowing, watch this space!

Good evening SE people!

The snow is almost gone here now! big melt today. I'm quite happy about it really as it gives me more confidence in stepping out the door with the kids in tow. Trying to manouvere them and keep myself on my feet on ice is a job for the skilled...not me lol

I know I haven't posted loads as I've not been here very long but I will be sad when/if the regional thread closes. I don't know where I'll post after that to be honest? Regional threads seem to be the most relaxed in terms of what you can post. I think I'll get told off if I post anywhere else lol

Major melt here too. Oh well, it was good while it lasted!

I'll be glad when the thaw is complete now. I dislike this mucky, damp transitional stage and my car has now got some dampness in it and is refusing to start! :diablo:

I hope this isn't to much of a stupid question but with this current cold spell over for now are we still at risk from atlantic wind storms like we had at the start of winter or are they only associated with that part of the year??

Essex weather going for double figures for the next few weeks no sign of it being cold again, some on here going for it getting cold next week with charts to back it up, are they possibly lead by the met office who imo don't seem to look and investigate the charts like a lot of you guys and girls do?

hi archiesmummy

next week has a potential for some more cold air heading our way.

Rtavn1862.png

atlantic blocked with very cold air again to our east

Rtavn2402.png

atlantic blocked and the cold air very close to the south east

remember the models have a tendancy to push everything too far east

so the next few days model runs could start to get interesting again :)

This would not surprise me at all. I have spent the last few days in Leeds. It was cold and a bit of laying snow around, but on my drive home today the temps gradually dropped from 10c in sunny Leeds down to sleet/rain and 5c as I got closer to home!

My back garden is still covered in Snow!

Plenty of ops for the cold to get into the south east again I fear [bit of a mildie, me]

Mind you, am off to the Carribean in two weeks. lol

What amazes me is they say it with such certainty that winter is over even tho there are obviously charts to say otherwise!
