That is looking very good jp

Am I wrong in thinking that the easterly showing there would not be as dry as the one just gone

( that's if it makes it to the uk of course)

Still nice to look at though mate after all the um bongo tropical charts in the model thread. Especially in the middle of feb

MT8_London_ens.png

the ensembles have the main run colder than the rest

there are however some other cold ensembles

this also shows precipitation which are the spikes at the bottom

there is a spread still of nearly 15 degrees on the 25th

so model watching just got interesting again

ecm has trended colder so maybe a new pattern

being picked up by the models

very cold march anyone

Brrrrrrrrr chilly out there this morning with -3°C on the drive and -6°C inland. Lovely patterns in the frost today, didn't have enough time to take pictures.

So pretty out there with the sun on the sparkly frost, was cold last night, as it should be don't like the temps they are forecasting for Thursday/Friday, they should be reserved for end of march, not now!

Looks to be fairly mild and uninspiring for a few days I think:

BBC hinting end of the week temps hitting 16oc 17oc for the SE

Bring it on!!!! If there is no snow on the horizon we might as well have some decent heat. Not sure if the sun will be shining though, that would be the best option in place of a 'white' winter

not sure why some people are raving about the forecast mild temps- its also forecast to be dull damp and windy!

They'll be mutually exclusive, i.e. if the temperatures hit about 17C, it'll need a fair amount of sunshine. If it's dull and damp, then there's no chance of that kind of temperature.

Why cant they pipe it from Yorkshire and Northern England, the news said all the reservoirs are full there, I suppose the water companies wont do it as it will cost to much money and it will affect the Directors Bonus.

I forget the exact term, but water becomes stagnated as it travels through the pipelines for any duration of time which is why water treatment plants store any collective water before it is released to the community, many stages of water treatment happens before it comes into our taps and the majority of Peak District/Yorkshire designs are based on gravity feeding the upper dam sources into the cities below.

To provide a safe, reliable pipeline from the North to South would cost more than to simply fix-up the leakages which are the cause of this drought in the first place. Incomplacency on-part by the water board executives unwilling to spend on resources because they can earn interest on profitability being the main culprit. In effect they are asking you in the SE to 'save water' which is running out of pipes into the ground, and you are paying for.
