Beautiful in the sunshine across London town today. Just had a coffee outside in a t shirt.

I'm glad it never turned that cold this week, apart from yesterday's chilly day and this mornings frost its been relatively mild.

Fingers crossed to a warm April end

:-( not liking that.

I guess media and Internet can stop making out we are the new Sahara now. Pathetic - considering we are one of the wettest islands in Europe.

Hoping for a hot and sunny may

Having looked at the charts and just watched BBC news tv forecast.

Apart from tomorrow there isn't really any significant rain for our part of the woods.

Sunshine and showers from Tuesday onwards.

Fine by me - rain can go do one for the next 4 months for all I care.

Sunshine and showers tues - Fri. But slow moving so places that do get hit will get a good soaking. And looking at the precip charts from ecm and gfs pretty much anywhere in the UK could get showers this week.

I'm still hoping for a lil t storm in the mix too :) or failing that then a crack of thunder will do!

I'm gutted the frost last week has killed my Virginia creeper. it was covered in shoots last weekend :( grrr

Ah well Happy easter everyone :)

Agree and likewise if your not in the path for showers - long sunny spells all day. A very hit and miss affair as some have said over on the MOD thread.

Well hopefully fingers crossed we don't get anymore frosts and after the next 7 to 10 days or so we start seeing a gradual warm up.

It's a shame it had to come on a bank holiday tho its been pretty light here all day I even managed a couple hours in the garden :)

The heavier rain is gathering in the sw now should hit us soon. Hopefully the winds aren't too gusty....I'm not ready to lose the blossom yet....or to clear up the mess it leaves!

Looking at the gfs cape and Li charts and also the netweather storm risk section, I remain hopeful for a little something electric tues-thurs with perhaps wed/thurs looking our best chance.

Tho I won't hold my breath!

Nicked this off Twitter...is it true could produce snow?

Quite possibly yes, the uppers are cold enough there to produce snow right down to lower levels.

fax chart for friday and saturday

friday

http://www.meteociel.../fax/fax96s.gif

cold north easterly wind

528 dam right down to north of london

precipitation over the south but would be rain

saturday

http://www.meteociel...fax/fax120s.gif

cold sourced north-north easterly flow

528 dam line covers the whole of the uk (long way south)

looks dry but will feel very cold

chart posted by archiesmummy

http://www.wetterzen...cs/Recm1441.gif

if this follows on from how the fax charts look snow would be a possibility

18z ensembles

Uppers -4 not quite cold enough for snow i think we need uppers of -8 for snow this time of year, maybe -6 would do but might be marginal low down - I think.

It would produce snow further north though.

It's fi and plenty of time for it to improve.....or not!

144 ecm uppers:

gfs uppers here are -6 to -8 on 18z

http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gfse_cartes.php?ech=6&code=0&mode=1

150-162

would be a close call

as suburban says these will change

Not cold enough no way for snow in the south. Perhaps northern England and scotland.

Don't be surprised to see the cold uppers change once we get nearer the weekend, as it always does, downgrade!

What a difference a day makes...why it couldn't have been like this yesterday when I was down on the south coast

On the plus side all my containers and rain butt are full to overflowing so although it probably hasn't done much to help the drought situation I have got some rain water to use :good:

Lots of convection on the radar, although nothing really in EA. Lovely day outside and am hoping to see a heavy downpour/thunderstorm sometime today or tomorrow, netweather forecast gives me a reasonable chance. Eyes on the radar.
