Hi everyone, gone very dark here in Corringham, Essex. Lots of rain and rumbles of thunder too - getting closer and louder as well. Hope you all get some thunder over the next few hours, I know I am one of the lucky ones.

Hurry up home time - I want to get out of work and on my way home to radar watch properly and sit out in the garden with the hope of hearing a storm approaching!

Yeah, looks that way, to be honest I thought I was unlucky but in Romford you just missed the line by a pip squeak!

Indeed lol, lets hope come wednesday we are not too far east.

No chance of a storm hitting MK now, skies clear as the trough moved through, winds now blowing from the SW & I can see all the CB's off to the east of here, well miffed. Was hoping for a bit of rain to cool things off, so sticky & hot at the minute.

As anticipated complete squat here so far, 4 hours on the hillside wasted by cu after cu bubbling up and then receeding back down. Skies have a more humid look to it compared to this morning, but i'm not counting on anything unless the storms going off in the south can provide enough stability for the entire length of the front.

I guess that's it for today then, nothing to my west really... all to my east. Unless the second line of cloud behind the lot that is over Kent/Essex which is now west of London decides to form into something interesting.

Going to chill, then come back hoping for something !!

Nothing here. In fact it's sunnier now than it was between 12-3pm and still humid. Can't even see cbs to the north or east of here so unless something forms to the west of here I don't think there'll be anything in Egham.

Not sure if anything will occur here today but it's hazy, there was a very dark cloud above my house that's now gone.. but there's plenty of cloud to my W and SW.. so it's just a game of wait and see.. we had a maximum temperature of 27.4C today so it's possible..

Just a few light cumulus here atm. Leeds Bradford METAR only has PROB30 for showers. Anyone else have any idea what chances west yorkshire is in for?

EDIT: Convection now appears to be getting deeper, a few small towers atm

I can hear Thunder now. Just to my east there is a big cell. But it's moving away so I won't see anything from that one.

There is still time though.

Welcome rain here in East Herts. I think though we may well just miss out on this developing to our East.

Actually I think I can just see a cb to the northeast of here but not sure.

But yeah, Wednesday looks a lot better for a large part of the UK.

The CF has seemingly pushed too far east for anything to kick off here now....the east will get the storms once again....a familiar story. TBH I did have high hopes for today and now Wed is looking like the action will be further south and east of here. NSC is very much a pertinent place for me right now! Over a year and counting.

It's gone beyond the point of ridiculous now. Nothing I hate more than hot weather which ends with a pathetic whimper. It's a tiresome, tediously familiar tale of recent years.
