Just a thought, not long before St. Swithans day is it, I believe. fool.gif Let's hope it is 40 days of dry weather thereafter, but maybe that won't even be enough time to dry out.

Seriously though, if there was ever a need to stay indoors because of extreme weather, it could well be tomorrow for those in the warning areas.

My monthly total will be already be above average by the end of tomorrow and I'm not even in a flood prone area. I seriously feel for those unlucky folk when all this weather wants to do is pile more misery on them.

Here's the latest so please take care as this is not moving anywhere fast!

SPOTTED MY FIRST TORNADO TODAY!!!! went out for a drive to drop sister of to Dads and spotted it out of the cells to the west of London!!! Got pics of the storms but not the tornado :( we think it made touch down for about 2-5 seconds before vanashing :)

Really??? Awesome!! Can you post some of the pics you did get??

You must also report this to TORRO.

I'm not surprised in the slightest tbh...the updraughts I saw on the way home definitely had some spin, the sheer was very very impressive!!!!!

Couple of cells to south of Peterborough, hope they fire up and get sferics, not looking likely though !

Wow 10mm of rain today, steady but never heavy. Armageddon avoided. Sun came out about 4pm but some nice towers just to the south.

Crazy weather! Went to Emersons Green earlier and the rain was savage! The roads were terrible. Can't begin to imagine what it was like up North. And I can't believe there is a red warning, everyone be safe!!

Yes, hope everyone stays safe down there. Nice evening in Ipswich-slight breeze, blue sky and cirrus streaking the blue sky. Looks like Ely area is/was having some heavy rain.

Absolute monsoon out there - this is what I imagined to be forecast - only took the whole day and evening to get here lol. More rain in the last half hour than the whole of the day,

Moderate steady rain here. Edge of the system is rotating right on top of us and coming back north. Put SN3 into the postcode zoom on the radar and run the loop to see.

Weird, only light rain here. But, I did hear a faint rumble of thunder earlier. At least we got something :p

Evening all, I flew back from Malaga this afternoon. I had no idea there was a convective episode until my plane flew over the north of France. Needless to say as my plane crossed the channel the convection turned to mush!

I've attached a piccie of the cells in northern France photographed from 38,000 feet. Very impressive and the pilot had to make a westerly detour to avoid them.

Just one more photo before I need to get some ZZZZZ's

Approx 10 miles distant, 28,000 feet altitude, 3 miles across. You can see the lower level cumulous spiralling upwards being sucked up. This was a bad boy!!

However, the rain falling tonight is 50-70 miles further east than forecast by the NMM. Therefore I wouldn't be surprised by seeing things further east tomorrow.

No it wasn't?, I was at rezzed and saw people coming in completely drenched... mini rivers flowing down the road, cars going through waves of water blasting against the side doors.

Oh wait that's right you didn't know that did you :)

Great photo. It looks like a force field where the cloud spreads out. Can't stop looking at it!
