Awesome lightning right overhead 2 great big german shepherds scared stiff and trying to sit on my lap.

We've had so much heavy rain of late my bassett hound has even developed a fear of that, and insisted on joining husband while he was having his bath during this morning's downpour. No idea what the thunder will do to him if we get it!

Nothing of note here yet apart from some hefty gusts of wind which seem to be originating from stormy looking skies to my north ?

Heard reports of the storm at Brighton before looked on here. Sounds like lots of fun being had down there. Checked the radar and that system stretches along the coast to Southampton... looks like it has a punch - squall line in there too?

I can now see the anvil of the storm that's currently between Great Dunmow and Saffron Walden. Maybe I'll get something later but, tbh, I'm not that fussed. My workplace is a really crap place to observe storms.

To be fair we deserve it, it's been quite awhile since the South Coast enjoyed some thunder.

I see the south coast, east of Bournemouth, is under an amber warning now for this afternoon.

Cant say I am surprised given the training nature of the Storms, could be some serious flooding, Amber warning warranted Imho

I can now just about see the base of the storm clouds to my northwest (I'm near Chelmsford) As I said, I can never see things too well, as my outlook for skywatching is rubbish! Frustrating!

First rumble here today in Reigate, gone very windy too. Yesterday evening we had 2 torrential showers which dumped 1 inch in 45 mins.
