Did someone say Christmas?!

Mulled wine anyone?

Dull and drizzly here, the optimist in me is quietly hoping for a storm, but the realist in me has won the argument and is going back to bed lazy.gif

'Fraid so, QS. All the Xmas tat'll be hitting the shops in August!

Crazy rain today, good to see all the winter posters in here sharing the summer rain. It woke me up briefly in the night, just long enough to catch the thunder, and again at 6am. Just as I thought it might brighten up, it started chucking it down again. According to my wetaher station there has been 18mm of rain since midnight, the side alley has turned into a small stream. It's just eased off a bit so I might wade to the car and get some chores done.

The allotment committee has organised a working party today to clear a giant compost heap. What are their chances of finding willing volunteers I wonder?

It looks to me, on the radar, that certain areas (SW Essex and south of London) are experiencing quite a long period of heavy rain at the moment. I hope no-one suffers flooding!sad.png

Still raining here, although the sun is now out! It looks like Colchester is currently passing its July average rainfall too!

A few storms look to be popping up further west to our region which is promising for this afternoon.

I guess that's a radar glitch, as lightning is still being indicated in the same place. It's noticeable how the showers are starting to move from the northwest, as the low moves away from our area.

I'll probably keep my eye on this all afternoon, as I've no interest in whether Andy Murray wins or not.

No, a three legged Martian could win for all the interest I have in tennis. :) Sorry tennis fans.

Muggy here and raining but no thunder yet. I'm hopeful. :D

That showery area near Cambridge might be interesting later, though it may pass to my south. We've also got quite a lot of time for things to develop - into early evening.smile.png

My brother also cancelled his trip to Silverstone, because of the heavy rain earlier today. He went to South Mimms and then returned home, as he felt the rain was so bad, the race would be cancelled.

I can't believe he didn't phone me to check things. What a pillock! I'm really irritated. wallbash.gif My 11 year old nephew was also really looking forward to going. A big waste of money too.

Maybe far northeast Kent and Chelmsford could be favoured soon?
