How ruddy typical. That lightning is moving away from Ippy. Maybe should set off back to Norwich and chase it up the coast. :D

We've nice sunshine now. Should help convection. I think it's the sort of day when showers could pop up with very little notice.

Took a trip out to Southwold this pm but heavy rain forced us to turn back before we got to Reydon. It was just bucketing down and it didn't seem wise to carry on, with inches of water on the road in just a minute or so of rainfall. The eastern sky as we approached the coast was just black from north to south.

Sun out now and it's HOT and muggy. Now.....what's the betting that as soon as I leave Ipswich they'll have a giant storm and Norwich will miss it all. *sigh* :(

Heard a good amount of thunder this afternoon, not seen any flashes though. 29mm of rain since midnight.

Rezillo, you must be near me if you are near Debenham

Our weather station has clocked 37mm of rain since midnight, not sure about that myself but having said that we have had some truly torrential downpours and 2 rumbles of thunder, when I was having a lay down I have to add..not impressed to have missed it..

Anyway, the water is a couple of cm from going into the shed, fingers crossed stays out!

Hope everyone else ok? Heard Roydon was flooded but don't know to what extent.

Looks like a cell has produced lightning in S London. Also a couple of interesting cells NW of London, heading SE.

Hello from Norwich. Just got back and it's dull and muggy here too. Looking at radar and nothing seems imminent. :)

Never is imminent here, always gets interesting as it gets to the coast or gives up somewhere near Thetford lazy.gif

I didn't realise Garvestone was so close to Norwich. I don't know about the storms giving up, I certainly have. If we get a storm today, you'll here me yelling in Garvestone. :D

Can't be far off - I'm a handful of miles west of Debenham.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-18762857 was what I got caught up in.

Sun keeps trying to make an appearance but it's outclassed by the dull greyness. Where ARE those blasted storms my app tells me we're supposed to be getting? :(
