Yet more torrential thunderstorms in Essex yesterday afternoon....hoping that we may have a break from it now.....I have now had 16 thunderstorms since April. Its quite ridiculous at the copious amounts of rain this summer. My grass is a beautiful green which is unusual for this time of year in Essex. Hardly a day has gone by when the evening sky has not been filled with towering thunderclouds silhouetted against the setting sun. If they are not home grown they are popping up from France in the small hours.

16 THUNDERSTORMS!! Lucky you. I'd be ecstatic with happiness. Your lawn being so green is the result of all that loverly nitrogen coming down in the thundery rain. Great natural fertiliser for your garden.

Its not very warm out there, Plus a few very light showers not much of a summer but we are getting average temperatures so really this is our summer how it should be. How Depressing.

I think its going to warm up by Thursday with above average temps, so no need to worry!Unless of course you dont like the heat lol.

Well I'm on my last night here this time tomorrow I will be flying home (boo hoo) I've decided a week isn't enough but I will be bringing my full allowance of duty free in honey rum home and hopfully the sunshine will follow me back to the UK too !

I'm hoping it'll be warmer in the Olympic Stadium by Thursday night - should help the time in the Men's 200M Final.

Looks like the only thunder in our region today was a few rumbles along the north Norfolk coast, late this afternoon. Close, but no cigar I suppose.

Looks like something is brewing on the radar between Ely and Norwich, but nothing remotely stormy is forecast as far as I know.

Nice to see temperatures holding up at 17-18C with a humidex of 23C, if I wanted to, I could get a bottle of water and relax outside without feeling too cold, always nice to have that option.
