The storm has passed through but still with rumbles of thunder in the distance, meanwhile another cell with some fairly bright echoes on the radar is on course to arrive here soon, so fingers crossed for a second storm of the day!

Looking at the radar sequence I would say most of Norfolk will miss out today , everything is tracking well south into Suffolk

Can see the tops of a big storm fto my SE, wonder if it's worth driving out.....it's not going anywhere fast, apart from the fact it's almost at Southwold and will be way out into the N Sea before I get anywhere near it!

Wow great your all having T storms some nice pictures on here, I've tried to post some holiday snaps but it's not working with my phone on here only on Facebook for some reason ! Anyway nothing but blue sky and hot sunshine here, sadly only two more days left as well - hope I won't need flippers and snorkel at Luton when I get back !

It looks like there's still a chance of thunder tomorrow, albeit a small one for any one location.

This is better than I was thinking even this morning though.smile.png

John, I dont know why but, BBC Weather seem to think it's going to be cloudy on Thursday, and then Friday they show it being sunny but only 22C, this does not make sense to me because the high will be in place above us and there will be warmer than we've seen upper air temps. Anyway from what I've seen in the model output is that if there is a thundery breakdown, we should still keep the warmth with us in the South and East next week anyways. And those ensembles support that, with above average temps :)

hi wheres the snow

i agree with what you say

the only thing that might be picked up is

thursday they may see high pressure called a dirty high

which gives lots of cloud cover

i think it will be sunny smile.png

friday has a wind flow from the north west

which may cap temperatures slightly

i reckon a 25 is possible on thursday and friday

the outlook dont look really hot

but looks pleasant as low rainfall

that will do me smile.png

I hope you are right about sun on Thursday, I do not want any of those dirty highs! I still think we may see high 20's at some point on Thursday or Friday, but that is just me guessing, a gut feeling as you may say, or wishfullthinking!

Morning all!

Well a 50 shades of grey, rather chilly start to the day here!

*yawn* wake me up when something exciting happens!

You might need to sleep for a few days now.lazy.gif

Same greyness here - mid level cloudy though, so not oppressive.

I'm still not 100% convinced that the north of our region has no chance of anything today. Definitely highly unlikely, but I wouldn't yet write it off completely. My opinion only.smile.png

Here is a CAPE chart from the 06:00 Hi Res model for 16:00 today. It's by no means brilliant, but to me Norfolk isn't a 0% chance of a storm with this.

Yet more torrential thunderstorms in Essex yesterday afternoon....hoping that we may have a break from it now.....I have now had 16 thunderstorms since April. Its quite ridiculous at the copious amounts of rain this summer. My grass is a beautiful green which is unusual for this time of year in Essex. Hardly a day has gone by when the evening sky has not been filled with towering thunderclouds silhouetted against the setting sun. If they are not home grown they are popping up from France in the small hours.
