Just had 30 minutes torrential rain and thunder. Tropical storm like. Now clearing and brightening up. Looks like heading North toward Windsor and West London...

Thunderstorm to my south west, can hear distant rumbles, looks as if it may miss me to my south. Interestingly a few grey clouds but no really dark clouds in the direction of the storm.

Looks like the unstable zone is headed your way - could be a decent evening.smile.png

Theres a smell out side at the moment that brings back memories of thunderstorms when I was younger.

Its amazing. There is a really dark cloud to my SW but no thunder coming from it.

Just heard thunder to my south (I'm a few miles north of Chelmsford) Probably 6 or so miles away.

Just saw a decent CG, 25 seconds then counted, so 5 miles to my south.

What camera / lens(es) did you use NS?

Nice atmospheric shots.good.gif

Hi Steve, was a Canon 60D with a 10-22mm lens. I only went out to get a couple of pics and only took one lens; despite going home to fetch the old man AND the bag and tripod I was so entranced by it all I never changed the lens which would have helped with the lightning (as it would have had a hood on it haha!)

Just moderately overcast here, nothing like the excitement of yesterday so far - still, got a shed load of washing dried and possibly have time to cut some more grass :D

Thanks for that.smile.png

I have a 7D, but really need to get a decent wide angle lens, as my current kit gives me zero chance of taking those sort of photos.

Are any of these thunderstorms going to come here? I haven't had one this year yet. cray.gif

If that stuff picks up to the west but it might be getting a bit late now.

Oh well, there's always next time. Otherwise I'll have to play Keraun's video over and over. :D

This reminds me of how storms used to start in the 90s. Lots of rumbles as it approaches. I've gone all goosey. :o the sferics are going crackers. :D

Lovely distance lighting from Harlow, was down in Romford, drove northwards to harlow and looked south towards the storm.
