It all seems a bit quiet here this afternoon. All the activity seems to be out west and north today. Hope that stuff over Devon and Cornwall can make its way northwards like yesterday.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Its fairly tame down here - mainly showers.

Hi Russ, yes parts of Leeds already had something today.. amazing how quickly this has developed!! The thunder and lightning even in the distance is very frequent.

ig storm about to move into MK from Buckingham / Winslow area, was moving south to north but in the last 40mins it's jumping eastwards with a well defined precipitation core at the south east edge which is holding strength at 250mm per hour, gonna keep a close eye on it, no hook echo yet but it may be a meso cyclone forming hence the sudden easterly movement.

Another good cell passing through here. Not much in the way of visible lightning (it's harder to pick up in broad daylight) but the thunder is very impressive.

Massive raindrops too.

Black sky, constant thunder and some flashes of lightning to the south are gradually edging closer. It's so slow moving, there must be some flooding issues around the Chester area. Sun managing to find a hole in the clouds to the west though

Where in cleavedon are you AWD?

Not in Clevedon anymore. Gave up and went home, nothing happening down there and nothing on the horizon either. Managed to get rid of all my coppers in the Amusements though. Lol.

Anyway, all quiet around my area, rather disappointed so far. The only thing that gives me hope is the fact that Ian Fergusson has recently said more stuff coming up from the South later. Plus a Meto Amber warning.

Personally, it needs to be sooner rather than later IMO.

That Cheshire storm now easily viewable as the mid-layers have parted somewhat, the wind carrying everything just offset of North but the LLC moving in through this way with the upper vectors so who knows. Got a grandstand seat of everything however.

You wait four years for a storm, then get three in two days! Great.

Just watched the BBC forecast and there might be some activity around later on but as you say, I'd rather see that emerging sooner rather than later. Tomorrow also looks more like a central and northeastern affair as high pressure starts to settle things down the remainder of the week.

Some robust looking cbs over towards Wales though atm.

Some big convective rain falling albeit very light but there appears to be a lot of rain coming looking at the radar.
