Never have I woken up to the sound of rain but I did last night, we had torrential rain for a good hour and a half accompanied by strong winds, there was even a rumble of thunder from somewhere but I was so drowsy it may have been me snoring a little.

We managed to pick up a reasonable 17mm of that system, watching it grow on the radar was amazing!

All quiet here today, presumably due to not much happening on the weather front.unsure.png

I can see there are thunderstorms over north east England now; it's a pity they're not heading our way.

And there's a very heavy shower near Basingstoke, moving NE, as well as thunder and lightning moving off the Channel in the East Dorset, West Hampshire areas, so maybe a few of us might get lucky later?

I doubt it - not for me anyway and not the way the MK storm shield has held this year nonono.gif

It only seems to happen here when I'm out of the country... but if the local storm lovers would like to club together and send me somewhere on holiday I'd be only too happy to oblige cool.png

Hi jason

Always odd seeing these show up on the fax charts

I see the models are going weird to say the least. Funny to say this but the 12z is what my long range forecast shows. Hope its right

I think the tropical storm will head towards us then get forced south and then head away from us towards the south west. I do expect stormy coditions to appear from this system but not hit us directly This will allow the colder shot from the east -north east to hit us. As I predicted a white bonfire night. At least we have somthing to keep us interested in now

Sorry no charts no main computer until 15th november. :-(

Absolutely John. I am quite confident that this winter will start early and will not be in a rush to bugger off. Damn shame you have no pc till the 15th.

Yesterday a van sped through a puddle and soaked me on way to work. I sent a few hand signals towards the van. It's windy here but not cold.

No offence to the met-office..But how the hell did they come up with that warning and not issue warnings for the areas below the warning? The rain is coming from that direction..What is it gonna jump those areas 0.o

Coastal convergence will fire the rain up a little further inland.

18z ensembles show pretty wet until 22nd

The 22nd could be a warm day but won't last. From 25th onwards temps are dropping quite low and will feel cold to very cold. Daytime temperatures struggling to reach double figures and sharp frosts overnight. Starting to show dryer conditions as well

Feels quite muggy out there at the moment.

Slightly surprisingly we've had almost zilch rainfall here since early yesterday evening.unsure.png

If you're not going to rain on us weather front, then just bog off! mad.gif I'll soon become bored with damp murky weather, without proper rain.sad.png

I got 7mm of proper rain in the early hours, and got woken up by it at silly o'clock yet again huh.png

It's quite mild and muggy feeling here too.....11 °C feels too warm for this early hour on an October morning !
