Think the time has come for the trusty flask to join me at work ! brrrr a chilly +1.3c at 6.50 this morning . I know its premature but getting very excited that we could see some of the white stuff in as little as 6/7 weeks ( if we are lucky)

Joined this forum a month ago after browsing various forms on Netweather and would like to thank those who have increased my knowledge on all sorts of things that may cause cold/mild winters here in the UK.Although i enjoy cold snowy weather i still think some people may be getting a bit ahead of themselves with the potential of cold being fulfilled.I think we will have to wait another month before we have a better idea of what winter has in store for our shores. That said,it would be nice to have a cold winter but we have to be patient and hope that "the signs of cold" currently in place don't disappear which would result in alot of disppointed people on this forum.

Patience is the Key!!

I was just wondering as so much of the Earths systems are interlinked and cyclical whether the record ice increase in the Antartic would have any baring on weather in the Northern hempisphere. Is it just too far away? or don't we really know yet? Thanks in advance good.gif

Nobody really knows I would assume will be the answer.

I think the arctic melt may be more important for our bit of the world though.

I've noticed ASDA have their winter shovels back in stock now, only £8 too.

They also have their Eaz-grit salt stuff.

The season is getting closer!

Lots of thick slushy ice on my car this morning when i turned on the windscreen wipers, winters a'coming people! clap.gif Temperature down to 1 degree this morning not bad for the 2nd week of October.

Beat the 1998 record by 2 degree's in fact, don't know whether thats for the month of just for the 8th of October though.

That's nothing, I saw a Polar Bear walking down my street this morning, followed by a load of emigrating inuits.

Come on. blum.gif

I find Lidl very reasonable!

Where as Homebase rip people off charging £8.49 per bag of Grit and £15 for a snow shovel, I can go to the aggregate yards and pay just £3 or £4 per bag of grit like I did last year all does the same job!
